~~A FRESH FRAGRANT BOUQUET FOR YOU~~

Flowers for all. These are the last of the old fashioned 'Seven Sisters' ever-blooming roses. I don't know if they are everywhere but we have them all down South along road banks, in pastures and lots of us have brought them to our homes and enjoy them. There are also 'Five Sisters' which have five blossom clusters as these have seven. Some are bush and others are climbers. Some bloom just once in the spring and others like these bloom several times during the spring and summer. They smell... Sign in to see full entry.

I AM SO BLESSED ~ BEYOND MEASURE

There are wars and rumors of wars going on right now. Some poor people are flooded others are banished from their homes because of fires and the heat and storms in some places are causing people to lose their lives. Somewhere a child cries because it is afraid. Somewhere a mother or father cries because she/he is afraid. Many don't know what to do about housing, food, clothing and education for their families. Someone has no car and another has cancer. I saw a beautiful bird looking for water a... Sign in to see full entry.

YOU HAVE TOLD ME. NOW MAYBE YOU CAN TELL ME WHY!

I am totally ignorant of some things on Blogit. I do not encounter this in normal going about in the world. But on Blogit it is one after the other problem that is either caused by the Christians, or they are party to and enhancing the damage of all the bad that is going on. The best post on Christianity recently was by gomedome on 'who is faking it'. This was a couple of days ago. Today Ariel70 made some good points about Christians and Jews on one of my blogs. Amazingly these two are atheists.... Sign in to see full entry.

ITS NOT THE REDCOATS!

You all remember the silversmith who rode through New England and yelled 'The Redcoats are coming'. We don't have a silversmith riding through our streets but the TV is doing a good job of telling us about another invader. Right here in the lower two-thirds of Alabama we are being invaded and no body understands it. It is not the Redcoats it is the Yellow-jackets! It is a totally new thing. Auburn University is studying them but have not seen anything like this ever before. They are finding... Sign in to see full entry.

WE ARE MAKING OUR DEBUT~~EARLY BUT WE ARE SPECIAL

We are not up to sitting like ladies yet as you can readily see, but we are cute. If you don't believe that ask our mama and daddy. We are cute! On the left is Grace who is mostly light grey and Mercy in on the right she is tiger striped greys. Sign in to see full entry.

LORDY, LORDY I HAVE JUST BEEN GIVEN TWO BABIES

Today is my daughter's birthday and she shows up at mama's door with a gift for me instead of the other way around. She walked in looking sheepish with two babies cuddled in her arms. "Mama please don't say no. Please take these. I can't raise six." From behind her is little Samuel my grandson who will be seven in four days. She gently transfered them into my arms and that was past the point of denial. I had to take them then. Sweet soft fury little kittens. Samuel began to instruct me on all... DANGED IF IT DOESN'T APPEAR THE WHOLE WORLD IS MAD

It got to me today. There is war, violence, crime, ugliness on every chanel except the decorating chanel. It was a disappointment too. The color of the room was sort of a spoiled punpkin. I couldn't even get into the decorating. People are killing people all over the world. The most depressing thing I can imagine is for a mother or father to encourage their son or daughter to strap bombs onto themselves go out and kill people they do not even know, people who may not be an enemy to anyone in the... IT AIN'T SO

All you redheads, brunettes and those with the lovely silver hair I am here to tell you it just ain't so.... Blonds do not have any more fun~~or any less. I had already reached the peaks of my ability to enjoy life as any hair color I chose. The blond made not one whit of difference. I am always ready to test rumors for you ladies. Just so you younger ones do not go through life believing such wifes tales as Blonds Have More Fun. They don't have less either. Truth is this: Take two people who... Sign in to see full entry.

IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THOSE SHEETS~~A FEW DROPS PERFUME MAYBE?

I finished all that work I was facing yesterday. This morning I had only one note on the to do list: Hair cut. Well since I was there anyway I thought I would get all blonded up and might as well get my nails done, my eyebrows waxed and lightened a touch. Well one should always test those things they are not sure about you know. I don't know that blonds have any more fun, it is said they do. I got to thinking I still have that pretty Christmas gown I haven't worn yet. hummm I need to change... Sign in to see full entry.

~~I'M MEETING MYSELF COMING AND GOING!~~

I am slow to get things I guess. I wondered what it meant to be meeting oneself coming and going. Nobody told me I was simply going in circles and perhaps to fast to recognize myself as me and I when we passed in the run. But today is certainly one of those days. I did an incredible amount of cooking last week, some of the laundry suffered because of it. Cobwebs are breeding. I am having to iron linen napkins again, not to mention tablecloths. Actually it is still fun as I remember certain fun... Sign in to see full entry.

I'VE ABOUT COOKED THE LIMIT

I am having dinner guest tomorrow night. It is a special day for a very close friend of mine. It is her birthday. Usually four of us girls get together on each other's birthdays every year and do fun things. We all have become to busy to get a time slot that fits for all of us. So George and I are having her and her husband for dinner. I am making her a 'Lady George Cake' for her birthday. Now I look forward to entertaining at the drop of a hat. This is the third small dinner I have done this... Sign in to see full entry.

READING AND NOT COMMENTING

This was a great week in so many ways. It was the celebration of freedom around my house. That was a real issue. A real food issue too. Down South we celebrate anything with food and more food. I have been in a foul mood where Blogit was concerned so I have done a lot of reading without making comments. I allow my attitude to get in the way sometimes when I comment even on a post I love. It is the stinking thinking. There are many good writers in the Blogit community. There are so many of you... Sign in to see full entry.

ARE YOU COMING TO MY YARD SALE?

I was thinking this morning how nice it will be to have a meaningful schedule again. I don't do nearly as well with retirement as I anticipated I would. I have always been my own scheduler. I ran my own business for so many years I have to be responsible for being there or else... I had all these projects cataloged in my mind that would get my full attention when I retired. They vie for attention to be first on my agenda. The trouble is I have little motivation to create a viable agenda. So my... Sign in to see full entry.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE IT ALL

It must be about 100+ degrees in the shade down South right now. The humidity is at least 80% and old houses have quilt air conditioners. That means there is a piece of one in a window here and there. You can hardly tell the difference from room to room. Mama always said women perspire and horses sweat. Today I'm horsing around. I could put some sort of drip catcher on my elbows and water my garden. Well there goes the sodium factor you know I don't need it and the plants can't have it. Oh well... Sign in to see full entry.

DOCTOR WROTE ME A Rx FOR A BUTLER, NO LIE, A BUTLER!

Boys and girls thank you for your cards and letters all by e train. I am doing better thank you, much better in fact. Seventeen pounds better! Thanks for asking. You know of course that I went to the doctor last week and he did a lot of things including insisting I begin wearing support hose. The exchange went something like this. "Justi, I'm telling you to wear support hose, take the meds just as I have written on your cheat sheet. I have changed some and increased the dieretic significantly... Sign in to see full entry.

BLOGGING IS NOT GOOD FOR MY HEALTH AND WELL BEING?

Well things have been back to zilch around here. Muser and Max left Wednesday and I rested a day but still could not get rid of the swelling. Friday I went to the doctor and he changed my meds again and Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday until late I am in bed. I was able to keep down three tablespoon fulls of yogurt the whole time. I felt like I had the bird flue or something. I am back to normal now. Well don't get excited I mean as normal as I get. I am considerably thinner, not at all... Sign in to see full entry.

YOU MET ON LINE? INVITED THEM TO YOUR HOUSE? HOW WEIRD IS THAT?

I remember hearing once that someone on Blogit had visited someone else on Blogit. I wondered how weird is that? We don't really know these people. Do we? Can you read between the lines into the being of the person lurking behind the pages that pop up on a computer screen? I can't answer that question for you, of course. I can answer it with a resounding 'IM SO GLAD I DID INVITE SOMEONE INTO MY HOME!' Muser and her wonderful husband Max have been our guests for three days and it has been an... ~~DO YOU SMELL THAT?~~OH MY GOODNESS~~

I was so excited when it was finally confirmed that Muser and Max would actually come for a short visit with us when they come to the states. They will not arrive until the day after tomorrow but I am getting my cooking out of the way. I want time to have fun, visit and see a few sights. There are hardly any sights that will be better than home for them so we will mostly visit. They will be eating foods they have never had for the most part because I am using original recipes from my cookbook. My... Sign in to see full entry.
