CHICKENS, ARE THEY MISUNDERSTOOD?

I have never been a particular fan of chickens after they pass that little yellow powder puff stage. I eat a lot of chicken. Other than how will I cook the next entrée of chicken I rarely ever think about them. Today I read this post Tanga presented and remembered why I wasn't overly fond of chickens in the natural. When I was about four years old I lived in the Country and I have fond memories of most of it, except for chickens. My episode with one made me always wonder why one could be called... ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR SHINGLES OR OTHER INFECTIOUS JUNK?

Did you have the dreaded chicken pox when you were a child? Not likely if you were born during the time it had pretty well been wiped out, at least in the USA. I was of the generation who lined up in school and got my arm pricked and the Small Pox germ placed there caused a huge ugly sore that soon healed and left an ugly scar. By this process two or three generations below me have been free of both these dreaded diseases. Chicken Pox and Small Pox. With the Small Pox immunization you got only... Sign in to see full entry.

I AM TRYING TO GET TO YOU, I'LL CATCH UP SOON

Today I ran into more senseless ranting that came out of a cloud of molded thinking. When will people stop being so blind to their own rants? Probably not ever. I decided to do what I do to those who read me and leave ugly vicious comments. I block them when this continues. So when I see people writing totally unreasonable rants, I stop reading them. Seems fair enough to me. Those who read me do so only because they choose. That is good. I do the same. I have been here a long time and there are... Sign in to see full entry.

NO, NO TRACES OF POLONUIUM-210 WERE FOUND

Old age is not what you have heard it was. Don't invest a lot in a plan to have a really good time when you get old. Have it now while you can still play tennis with cute guys in tanned bodies covered in all white. Just kidding, for the most part it is really great considering the alternative. But when you introduce old ladies to fibromyalgia the union is a wham doozie. I have slept as much as 36 hours with only snack and bathroom trips. I am coming out of this episode but I have been hurting in... Sign in to see full entry.

I CAN'T REMEMBER HOW LONG AGO THIS WAS

Once upon a time. You know when a story begins that way it was longer than is recorded on your desk calendar. All I remember about when it was is that it was about a year before the time when all the people in the world came to dinner and service for eight was sufficient. Well the story began long before that. There was an old preacher, really for he preached the same sermon for one hundred and twenty years. (120). He kept saying 'Get saved and escape the wrath to come. It will rain until all... Sign in to see full entry.

FIRST LIGHT BRINGS IN A STORM

The morning comes over the mountains on the East side of the lake and the last of the dancing ladies has pushed her baby barges in for the day's loading. The light is firey and the storm cloud looms heavy. I feel like snuggling back under the blankets and forgetting that I have anything to do today. Can't do that, I'm having a party tomorrow night. We are having another "Picker's Ball" to raise money to get Christmas for a lot of families who may fall through the cracks. There are many who work... Sign in to see full entry.

HAS THE SUNSET ON SOME BLOGGERS?

As I sit here and look out on this scene from the park's edge I see that maybe it is golden and beautiful in the land of the Setting Sun. Have some of our bloggers walked off into the Sunset? Today I saw that Black Pearl had not posted in several days. The same long time no post ran a path all through Blogit and some are just gone. Muser has gone home, but that was some time ago. What about Bel she has been out of pocket for 20 days? RifDaws just bit the dust. I caught a glimpse of TAPS... Sign in to see full entry.

JUST ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE

It is night time and she rolls along keeping the commerce of our small artsy town tucked in like a tightly wrapped infant. Any night from my bed, I can hear the caravan pushing ever so softly across the lake out to the river and on to ports far away. She has her babies in tow. She moves as if she is a cat brugler. Rather than come off as a criminal she is like a dancing lady. Her delicate movement in the water sounds like fabulous silk taffeta ball gowns gliding across highly polished floors.... Sign in to see full entry.

SAY WHAT NOW?

It is very very close to election time and no matter who wins their coveted seat thousands upon thousands will love to hate them. I have received some of the most critical, ugly just plain vulgar mailings against this or that person this year than ever before. I have come to believe that the greatest 'Idol Worship" is that of getting our way, having our vote count, or in the case of the politicians the worship of position. People are addicted to hating those who don't see eye to eye with them.... Sign in to see full entry.

SOME BLOGGERS LIVE TRULY EXCITING LIVES

I am sitting here in my robe, it is afternoon already. I slept until 10:30 and then I began to read. I saw where Symphony went to a costume party and she took home a prize for the best and bravest costume. It was a corker for sure. Sounds like a lot of fun. Whee that Tanga is out playing with the elephants, zebra and goodness knows what else. I saw yesterday Ms. Tanga was out with the little Megan playing with an elephant. We all know TAPS stays one step ahead of danger all the time. She is out... Sign in to see full entry.

ARE SOME OF OUR BLOGGERS DATED?

I love watching the home shows on TV. What really gets me are those who have these beautiful houses and they ante up a budget of $35,000 to $50,000 to up date an already beautiful kitchen. Some are people looking to buy a home or others who have just bought and those who are bored. Their favorite words are "it is dated". What does that mean if it is this side of 1980? I understand clothing being last years fashion. I think if you are able to buy a dress on sale for $80 wear it perhaps 40 times... Sign in to see full entry.

DRAG OUT THE SPOOKY DRAMAS IT IS THE SEASON

This time of year everybody brings out their oddities in the super natural sense. Now I am not one to get all in a wad because someone celebrates Halloween. I do think it is dangerous for little children to go into the streets without grownups with them. I do not think they should eat the stuff they receive without x-ray. I also think doing anything to harm a little child should be a capitol offense. I vividly remember the first time I heard of a human being deliberately doing something to harm... IS IT CHOICE OR DECISION

Particularly in my teen years, but all my life I have hated that bit of wisdom used by the sages called parents, about the choices you make. They told us things happen to you because of the choices you make. Back in my Mama's day one would say you made your bed you must lie in it. Most of the choices a woman of the early twentieth century had to make were decisions about marriage. By twenty if a woman had three suitors it was time to make a choice and she had better make a good one because she... Sign in to see full entry.

WELL I NEVER

You may call me Ms. Business Woman! No person will not do. It is woman thank you. I was a business woman for 34 years and retired to feel about as useful as a screen door in a submarine when I found e bay. To day I made my first sale on e bay. I am so excited. You would think I had opened a fine restaurant. I sold an original Etienne Aigner Navy Leather Nautical hand bag. It is almost 40 years old and very few were made. I loved it, and hope the buyer will as well. I sold to a store in... Sign in to see full entry.

PEACE IS SO PRECIOUS~~NO ONE CAN AFFORD IT~~YET IT IS FREE

I did a lot of thinking and busy bee sorts of things today since I felt like I needed to sort out good 'n' evil here on Blogit and in my life. It has been a really different experience for me here. I love some of the people as if I knew them in person and I think I do. People show their being through their writing even if it is stilted and they are attempting to ghost write a character. With daily blogs you will give away who you are. I had the pleasure of having Muser and her lovely husband Max... Sign in to see full entry.

A LADY WITH A PAST

Ah she is moored for the night. Can you imagine 120 passengers and a crew on this little ship? This is an exact replica of the Nina, Columbus' favorite of the three ships making a voyage to the New World. She has come to our tiny town via the water ways that feed our lake. So peaceful is the water and all was still and serene today when we went down to the dock to get a glimpse. She will be here a week for tours beginning tomorrow. It was interesting to read about her from the web site. There... Sign in to see full entry.

TODAY WAS A REAL MILESTONE IN MY LIFE

I haven't much to say. I am still reeling from the love and caring in the place today. The church is a really different one, not at all like mine and I have never seen such beauty in such ordinary environment. The congregation of the church is made up mostly but not totally, of people who have been in some sort of addiction recovery program, their families and those involved in these programs. Today there were those who have lost everything, millionaires, people my daughter never saw and friends... Sign in to see full entry.

WELL I AM BUSY TODAY AND ENJOYING IT!

I will not have much time to write today. I am taking care of business. The business of my daughter's wedding. Nothing fancy, nothing spectacular just sweet and simple. But I am busy as a magpie on the late fall beach. It is a wonderful thing and a sad thing for mothers to have their children marry. Are they ready for this? Do both of them know each other well enough to have breakfast together and go to work in a good mood? I don't worry about couple's lives working in the bedroom, it is in the...
