Howdy Neighbor

I think people sense when I am in a monster writing tear, and thus knowing that, they stop over to invite themselves in for coffee and chatter. I've been averaging about 4500+ words a day lately, but today, I'll be lucky to get 750 in. Such is Life. I bought a couple more 'how to' ebooks on writing... Sign in to see full entry.

A Lesson in Compassion

Something I posted on my FB page. Thought some of you might understand. I've been on the phone a lot with a despondent friend this morning who believes they have no real reason to live. I remembered this story my Father told me a long long time ago and it seemed to help. A speaker began a seminar,... Sign in to see full entry.

Snow Is A Lot Like... Ahhh, You Know The Line.

It looks like the main part of the "horrendous" storm they predicted all weekend has dipped to the south of us about thirty miles or so. It is snowing, but nowhere near as bad as they warned about. I was in Denver once in February for a EMS convention and they kept talking about four to six inches... Sign in to see full entry.

Snow, Inches And Inches of Snow!

We have a massive snow storm moving in that is set to hit us about three AM tonight. Life is such fun! We had 60 degree weather less than ten days ago, then we have had the five to six degree nights the last few nights, and now this storm threatens to dump five to fifteen inches of snow on us....... Back In The Saddle... Again

It looks like our power is on to stay after several days of on again / off again stuff. I know several families still in the dark. Oh well, Life moves on. I've got a ton of work to get done real quick, but I have a lot to post soon. Thanks for those who have made suggestions for my 'book' on writing... Sign in to see full entry.

A Brief Update

Our power is coming on and going back off again as the crews work to effect repairs. I had a comment not understanding the estimate of 72 hours. We had winds over 60+ mph, knocking semi trucks on their sides and knocking down hundreds of trees. I need to finish a few things on my online sites I do,... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm Powerless To Change It

Our power is down and they say it may take up to 72 hours to restore it. No worries here as we have a heating system that doesn't require electricity and I stocked up on about 75 gallons of water. I think our stuff will come back up sooner than the others because of where we are located. The local... Sign in to see full entry.

Da Wind Be Howling!

The winds have become extremely fierce here today and we have lost power several times already this morning. I dare not begin to work on something in Word lest we lose power again and I lose my work. I save my work every thirty seconds or so, but Word is an unpreditable beast. I've lost entire works... Sign in to see full entry.

Melancholy Baby

The weather continues to be an ever changing situation here. It was 60 for a while yesterday. During the night hours, a heavy rain came in, followed by a steady 35 to 50 mph wind, all ushering in a cold front. Such is Life. I wanted to take the trip north but have relegated that trip to my nephew. I... Sign in to see full entry.

Fame! I Want To Live Forever!

We are having another of those warming trends for the next couple days. One of these days, these things will hang around and become "global warming" in the northern hemisphere, also known as 'summer.' I don't mind winter, but I'd ten times rather have spring, summer, and fall all of the time. I love... Sign in to see full entry.
