This is probably not the best subject to bring up here, but I gotta say something. One of the writing clubs that I have really enjoyed for the past two years has started to become a club that I'm seriously beginning to think I need to walk away from. From the git, I always thought the the leader of... Sign in to see full entry.

I stayed up until about two in the morning last night and I finished my cancer story with the exception of my epilogue. I'm both glad and sad to see this story end. It gave me a outlet for some of the pent-up grief that I was experiencing and it was a test of my ability to challenge my ability to... Sign in to see full entry.

Big Storm Passing Through!

I wanted to finish last minute editing of my cancer story, but the lights have been flickering for about the last ten minutes. I settled for posting another 1100 words in the story and closed down my Word app. I don't need to do a lot of work in a story, especially as I'm building words and emotions... Great Sales - Odd Ratings!

I just had a big 'surge' of sales today. I'm not compulsive about tracking my sales, but I do it twice a day, morning and night. I had checked it this morning, and for some reason, I left the tab open. I just 'F5'd' the page (reloading the page), and I see that I've sold thirteen stories since about... I'm not exactly sure what was going on this morning, but we had an apparent car/criminal chase that ended about two blocks away. The 'bad guy' hit a utility pole, causing several blocks in the area (including yours truly) to lose power. I normally spend the morning writing and reflecting,so this... Sign in to see full entry.

I think I finally hit my stride in my 'cancer' story. I'm into the 'meat' of the story where the boy is talking with his father. I listened to a number of these conversations, and while no two were alike, there was a common undertow. My next and still to be decided turn of events is how far to delve... We went out walking along the river, and stumbled across the biggest hunk of black obsidian I've ever found. It's well over the size of an American football, closing in on the size of a basketball... and it was heavier than all sin too. The dogs are tired and so am I, but I'm going to do some... It's a quiet morning here in Newberry. I was up until 3 AM working on my story, but something woke me up about 8 AM, so I'm taking advantage of my Sunday morning rule I made for my friends. No calls, texts, or emails on the day after race day. It allows me to get my work done without constant... Sign in to see full entry.

Let me make a confession here and now. I've written thousands of political and sports columns, thirty some short stories, novellas, and books, and a lot of nonsense to post here, but I have never written anything that is as difficult as writing this 'Daddy Has Cancer' story I am writing right now.... Whew! The grass is mowed and I'm going to shower and then grab some lunch. I finished just as the temp hit 78 degrees. I am still not sure about the races tonight. The advance mode on the radar for that area shows it will be raining there, but 'advance mode' and 'reality mode' are two different... Sign in to see full entry.
