This was a BIG snake, probably close to six feet long or more. For the UP, it was a fairly hot day... about 88 as I remember... and this big guy was using the damp log in the river to drop his body temp using the theory of ' The Heat of Evaporation.' Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

This was taken on our honeymoon in August of 2020, just to the west of Munising, along the Superior shoreline. In my six years of being in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this old guy was the one moose who never seemed to mind if I got close to him. I called him "The Old Man."
