Woodward Lake at Sunset

This lake was about five miles from our place in Newberry and we loved to visit it in the evening! Sign in to see full entry.

Golden Eagle

We would see this variety of eagles in the UP on occasion, but they weren't as trusting as the Bald Eagles were. I think this is a young male. The females are typically bigger and without as much coloring. Sign in to see full entry.

Thanks, Could I Get Another?

This incredible shot was taken in late September 2021. Lisa and I had gone out into the Hiawatha National Forest as we did so many times. She had packed several peanut butter sandwiches, and apparently, this big ol' hungry mama could smell them. The first thing you need to know is I had seen and met... Sign in to see full entry.

Silver River Falls

Located about thirty miles south of the Keweenaw Bay near a tiny little town named Herman, the Silver River has a number of falls. This is one of the more interesting falls (to me, anyway!). Sunset On Keweenaw Bay

This is another "honeymoon" photo from when we visited Keweenaw Bay in August of 2020. I was surrounded by beauty... and the bay was pretty, too. *Smile.* Sign in to see full entry.

Wood Turtle Preparing to Drop Her Eggs

One of the trails I often would travel in the UP took me along the shores of a glorified swamp/lake, depending on how much rain we had gotten lately. This 10" female was digging a hole that ultimately would be about six inches deep. Once she was done, she would cover it back up and disappear back... Sign in to see full entry.

No Man Is An Island

I have three versions of photos using this poem by John Dunne using different islands at sunset. No man is an island, entire of itself. Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. Sign in to see full entry.

Spider's Web In Heavy Morning Dew With Rainbow Effect

It was a day after three days of steady rain, so the air was heavy with dew. I caught this from a perfect angle to get the rainbow effect. Sign in to see full entry.

Flowers From In Our Backyard

I'm not sure what the proper name for this plant is, but it has dozens of beautiful red flowers. If anyone knows what it is, let me know! Thanks! Sign in to see full entry.
