A Beautifully Calm Superior Night

Catching Mama Superior in a calm mood is remarkably rare. Catching Superior calm at the very edge of changing from day to night time is incredibly rare... and then, there is this photo. This was taken at the Black Rocks near Marquette. Sign in to see full entry.

Banded Canadian Goose

There was a huge refuge area about twenty miles from our home in Newberry in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The DNR set up multiple plots to encourage various types of birds to increase their numbers by giving them safe harbor. It was a wonderful place to be if you loved wildlife as I do. This... Enjoying The Campfire

Snow Owl At Rest

These huge birds would often fly 1500+ miles nonstop to winter in lower Canada or the upper tier of the States. It would take them several days to recover from the flight, giving photographers like me a chance to get shots like this! Sign in to see full entry.

Just Chillin'

After a heavy snowstorm, I found these two young eagles sitting in the tree. Before you think, 'Awwww, they're scared or snowed in,' what they're actually doing is hunting. Rabbits, mice, and other food animals will stick out like the proverbial sore thumb in an all-white background. Sign in to see full entry.
