Birthday lunches and dinners and days in bed.
If the birthday that I have had this year is any indication of the year's scene, I am ready to skip this year. My baby grandson had some horrendous stomach thingie, which at 5 months or so of age, had him just a rag doll in my arms, an unhappy and lethargic fellow who alternately vomited and pooped his tiny brains out. I spent my time there just rocking him, giving him pedialyte or washing him, poor thing. I disinfected everything with chlorox wipes and scrubbed my hands over and over, but, to...

Guine'-Bissau's president was assasinated and I worry about my friend.
The top military man was ambushed and killed, supposedly by the president's men and then he was killed. My friend is head of the Public works Ministry, I believe and I worry about the stability of his country. He and his friends and family work so hard to keep the rule of law in place and to make more and better laws for a just nation. Poverty keeps them crawling along like toddlers in the bigger world and so, African and South American drug lords use their tiny nation as a funnel for cocaine...

Today's email from my brother made me laugh out loud.
It is a rude little thing that someone thought up and then sent out, but, even if you are of another political thought, the ice cream names ARE funny. Can't wait to see what they do for Obama when he has left office. I"m not sure if this is real or an urban legend, but who cares? Ben & Jerry created "Yes Pecan!" ice cream flavor for Obama. Yesterday was Bob Marley's 60th birthday and Playing for Change
is the organization which goes around the world having street musicians and small ethnic groups sing love songs, uniting songs, peaceful and one world songs. Got to this page and there is a large video window. Under it is a line of small photos. Mom bought Karo syrup when I was young, dunno what for. I boiled it
quickly and secretly to make taffy as Granny had taught us, but ended up just eating it by the huge spoonful after boiling it for awhile. I was a sugar freak as a child. I wandered for hours and hours after other little kids went home, knocking on just one more door, Trick or Treat, until the whole pillow case was full to the top and impossible for me to carry any further.I was sure that GOD made Halloween just for me. Huge country pork ribs, 5 lbs @ $4.00 and invented sauce.
I opened the package thinking that I had six long thin pork ribs, but no, they were huge pork steaks and only three fit in the oven pan and three in the stove top fryer. I had about two ounces of Tangy BBQ sauce left in a large bottle, so I put an envelope of powdered Ranch Dressing in the bottle, two large tablespoons of Canola oil, two containers of Malt Vinegar from Long John Silver's, three Soy envelope containers from Panda Express, one cup of curdled milk from the fridge and other Hot...
