Living in the Shadows: Destined

1. A New Beginning Aron flexed his hands in the moonlight, and took a step toward Jessica. He ran his hands down his chest, but the hole from the knife was gone. The blood had disappeared. His hand flew to his neck in a panic as he began to choke. Something foreign was passing through his air passageways. He struggled to gain control of his breathing. For the first time in three hundred years he was breathing. It was air in his lungs. It was life. Unmarred and undammed life. Aron turned his... Sign in to see full entry.

Her words lacked the conviction she wanted her voice to hold because in her chest her heart was breaking into unmagnifiable pieces. Her father smiled. “I’m happy that we seem to have that understanding. I can’t let a petty reason such as love destruct the path of which I must take. The path that leads to you imminent death.” Jessica returned the smile.... Sign in to see full entry.

Living in the Shadows

Chapter XXV “No.” Jessica whimpered. “Please no.” A heartless laugh echoed in the room. “Hello, Jessica,” it said amused. “Dad,” she whispered. “No.” The voice said angrily. “I have no children.” Tears fell down Jessica’s cheeks. “You have me,” she said quietly. “I have no one!” He scoffed. “You had Mom!” She yelled angrily. “Your mother left me,” he said like a wounded child. “She didn’t want this life. Even if it was the only way she could be with me.” “What did you do?” Jessica whispered. “I... Sign in to see full entry.
