Starting my New Job

I start my full time job on Monday although this past week has been more than full time. I have been given a promotion and a raise before I even start. I have been asked to be an area coordinator and train and interview new hires for up here in this area. I am very excited. I can't believe the money. $$$$$ Lots of work and driving but I really love it. I enjoy going into homes and teaching. I went into the hospital this past week and saw several members in one day. Well I Took A Wrong Turn

I took a wrong turn coming home from Bristol last week and got to take the scenic route home. I remembered vaguely the area from my home health days but couldn't remember where to turn to main road. I called Snaz so he could look up landmarks on mapquest to guide me. He told me I was in Alabama. I told him I'd be a little late for supper.LOL We finally figured out where I was and where the road connected with civilazation and I got home. Spring Has Sprung

Although my body has not switched on to Spring yet, the weather has turned to 70-80 for this next week. Rick mowed the yard today and I painted one of my metal chairs purple. When Rick took a break, I said I wanted to paint the other chairs: one yellow, one green and one red or orange( we said the colors in unison and I had just thought of it right before he took a break). Slow Warming

Slowly but surely we are starting to warm up. The wind makes it very chilly though. Spring flowers are starting to bloom and some trees are budding out. I can't wait for warmer weather. Rick has a lot of plans to get his yard in order. He has a lot of beautiful plants and rock gardens. We will have fun this summer working outside. I still am waiting on more referrals for my new job. Snow Snow and more Snow

Spring where are YOU????????????????????? We got 4 and 1/2 inches of snow this week. I am so ready for the warmth of spring and summer. I need some sunshine and a walk by the river. Loving my new job and being able to give back for all the help Richard and I had. Supposed to get really busy next week and especially the week after with referrals. Five Wishes

Five Wishes Five Wishes is a designated trademark of Aging with Dignity. As part of my new job, I instruct clients on End of Life issues. The program we use is called Five Wishes. It is booklet that has all the Advanced Directives for a Living Will and can also be used as an estate will without the services of an attorney. Sprng in Tennessee

The second day of spring in TN. This was part of my drive to work. Here is another view of the road. That is ice and snow and it went for 2.5 miles. All the other roads were cleared but this stretch. Thanks goodness it was mostly flat and no curves or hills. Now the weather station says we are on a winter storm warning for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We are supposed to get 8-12 inches. My New Drive to Work

The view during my drive to work these days. This is from the overlook at the lake. I actually drive right by the lake and over it a couple of times to get to where I am going. It is a winding mountain road and it is beautiful on a sunny day. Not so much in winter or a bad rain. I will have to stop on my trip up the mountain Thursday and take pictures of the lake. Spring Fever

The sunshine was bright all day and our high was 60 degrees. We started with homemade steak biscuits and gravy. Then B came over to get the refrigerator from the back deck from my rental house. I met B and Rick there and quickly cleaned it out with a lick and a promise. A lick now and a promise not to do it so well the next time LOL. And It Fell Into My Lap

I got an e mail yesterday from a firm looking for a case manager for the Tri Cities. She said I had applied last year but they hadn't had a need in northeast TN until now. She was coming to Erwin and wanted to set a time to interview me at McDonalds. I e mailed her back and the time was set. When we got up this morning everything was covered in snow. We had 3 inches. Moved and Nesting

We moved the last of the boxes for storage out yesterday. On my way home I decided to stop at Walmart and look at material to finish the curtains I had made earlier. Weeelllllll, I found the most perfect material to match the couch, love seat and recliner. So I decided I would just change the curtains completely. This is what I made today. Finally, Almost, Completely, Getting There Moved

Saturday was moving day for all the furniture that was to be moved. The first load was to storage and then B, Rick's good friend and handy man, went and go his trailer to hitch to his truck. The next load was the dresser and chest and outdoor table and chairs. Snaz drove my car loaded with boxes and followed B and Rick while I stayed and finished packing away the pictures and crafts. Memories

Today was packing away the memories. As I went through papers I had stacked hurriedly the last couple of weeks without looking at them when I was cleaning out drawers of the chest I'm moving here, I found the cards Richard had given to me and papers of his I had kept. I packed away our marriage license I had framed. Then I found several things I had kept that was Mom's, her Atlanta Braves foam axe. She would watch them play and swing her axe with the crowd on TV. A Very Happy Birthday

I am 62 years old today. It is hard to believe that I'm 62. I don't feel 62 unless the weather changes drastically and then I feel no older than when I was 42. I had the same physical symptoms then. Anyway I have had a great day. My honey brought me a dozen pink roses, a dozen yellow roses(my favorite and didn't even tell him) and 2 red roses. They are beautiful. Final Week of Moving

Hopefully this will be my final week of packing and moving. Tomorrow we are moving all the packed boxes for storage to our storage unit. Since I am no longer working at present, I will be packing the rest of everything left at the house for goodwill. Except for all the pictures taken over the years and scrapbooking material, it is mostly clothes and sewing stuff that I will be giving away.
