A rare Friday night writing!

This is a rare, for me, Friday night writing. We normally go out and have dinner and stop by Barnes and Noble for some reading material. Tonight our schedule changed just a bit. The niece went to a haunted house at her daycare with the wife. I stayed home with our herd of animals and just took it... Sign in to see full entry.

It's FRIDAY!; it's still too hot; another "F"; etc.

I have made it to Friday again. This is some nice. I will have a great day and then it will be time for the weekend. That is what I seem to live for. I just don’t think it gets any better than finishing up the workweek and walking out of the building on Friday afternoon. That is just the best... Sign in to see full entry.

Be Careful, Jim !

BE CAREFUL, JIM” One of the most enduring memories I have of my childhood and early teens is of a television show that brought me so much joy and taught me so much. Each and every week I would sit down to watch this wonderful show eagerly anticipating what far away country we would be visiting. I... Sign in to see full entry.

Red Sox for real;Gen. Franco all over again; eclipse;etc.

I will begin my writing this morning with another short story I had written in my journal from long ago. I want to say this about my stories. I may pick on my wife some in these stories, but I love her and have the utmost respect for her in all ways. A ONE LEGGED-MAN WOULD KNOW………” How lost do you... Sign in to see full entry.

All 5's; wouldn't that be the irony of ironies; cut tongue;etc.

Yesterday at work I had the same number come up in my work all the time. It seems this one number keep recurring no matter what I did. I led me to this story I wrote a while back. I hope you enjoy!! “5-5-5” I am not a big believer in numerology. I imagine it has its basis in science in some way or... Sign in to see full entry.

Early morning thoughts and thoughts on the early morning!

Early morning, before the wife and niece wake up, at my house is a time of much bustle. This time of day for my animals and I is a whirlwind of activity and a virtual ballet. We have it down to a science. That is until things don’t go exactly right. Then we come crashing down, unable to function. We... Sign in to see full entry.

Monday (blah)

My Mother’s birthday is today. She is 107. Just kidding! She is not a day over 71!! Yes, it’s another one of those Monday’s. It seems Friday doesn’t come along as often as Monday for some reason! I just don’t ever seem to be motivated on Monday to do anything. I need to try and change that in some... Sign in to see full entry.

A twist on the old classic opening line....

It was a dark and stormy afternoon! That is what we are having here in south central Texas on this Sunday afternoon. The rain has been pounding our area for several hours now with no signs of letting up. My rain gauge is almost full, the result of the incessant precipitation. Rain is a life-giver.... Ariala on Tesla;LSU wins;Red Sox are tough;etc

Ariala had an interesting post on Nikola Tesla. I have long been interested in Mr. Tesla and have read a few things about him and his life. He was a true genius. While I can’t say I have patterned my life after Nikola, I have been very fascinated by his writings on “astral” travel. Of course, I was... Sign in to see full entry.

The tractor's broke;she had how many F's;we think it's a nervous breakdown!

That is how my day began yesterday. From around 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. the news was not very good. I guess we all have days such as this. I am happy to report things are looking up at this time. Well, on the other hand, I don’t know if they could have gotten any worse. A new day brings a new perspective... Sign in to see full entry.
