Sorry. You can't have it. You're not new.
Do you watch those new employees with their shiny new company padfolio and you can't have one because you've been working forever? Here's a trick that will work. It'll cost you a few dollars but you might even get a better and more useful item than what HR is giving away. With the office supply...

Another surreal event
I haven’t kept in touch very well with the folks I went to high school with. We all went in separate directions and I am in touch with a few but not everyone I ran around with during those times. Back in 1992 I ran into someone from high school. We talked for a bit and I asked about another...

My encounter with the frog's leg
We were in Hope, AR at the Western Sizzlin' Steakhouse. They were kinda sneaky about the buffet. The frog legs were next to the chicken wings. So I grabbed some of both thinking the frog legs were a different flavor of chicken wing. Weeeeelll none of the food I tasted was very well seasoned, but you...

The almost stepson/brother
Mom dated a preacher for a while. This man had a few sons. I was talking with one of them and he said, "I had a job and then my girlfriend got pregnant. So I started getting into clergical stuff." I have to admit I was too shocked by the use of "clergical" that the rest of his statement took a while...

Gross vs. Net: Thoughts on Tithing
The question came up years ago whether as Christians we should tithe out of the gross or the net pay. The "conservative" bunch wants us to all think that you take 10% of the gross and the government just does whatever about their part. Well pay wasn't handled the way we do now when Jesus was in the...

Road Rage
A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman was furious...

Best Wishes for 2008
To all my friends who sent me best wishes in 2007 or promises of good luck and great wealth if I passed on your emails; IT DID NOT WORK. For 2008, could you please just send either hard cash, dark chocolate or gas vouchers? Thank you!
