We might as well PARTY, like it's 1929!

As I all but predicted, yesterday was spent replacing the bargain yard sale clothing dryer with another one that Marilyn found at a local business. We never even tried the spare one that was left out in the garage. Marilyn is pretty sure that one is the one she bought from my son. Guaranteed junk. Two removals and two replacements in eight days is more than enough effort expended to be able to dry clothing, as far as I am concerned. If I lived alone, I would have strung clothesline over the wood... Sign in to see full entry.

I wasn't REALLY celebrating St. Patrick's Day a few days late!

Here it is Good Friday, again. Seems like we had one of those just last year! I do not have any vivid memories of last Good Friday, but this one may be memorable. As I was lost in deep, profound thought yesterday, I absent-mindedly sat sipping my coffee next to where Easter egg season coloring was in full swing. As I say, I was distracted successfully, by my remarkable ability to usually be able to tune out background drivel. Just as I had concluded that I had finally worked out a solution of... Michigan's medical-marihuana legalization initiative.

Michigan is considering making medically recommended, by prescription, marihuana legal. Yeah, sure. In 1968, everyone younger than thirty years old thought that “decriminalization” would happen soon. Doctors, lawyers, police officers, teachers, judges, politicians, business owners, EVERYONE had tried it and knew that it was as innocuous as inhaling any pollutant, unless one was dead set against smokers of “the evil weed” being allowed to eat raw cookie dough. I shared many people’s concern that... Sign in to see full entry.

The miracle of pharmaceutically rejuvenated pets! What a deal!

I don’t know if this is an effect of my recently having cut back a bit on beer and increased my drinking of tap-water, but it recently occurred to me that maybe someone ought to look into this guy, Dr. Frank X. He claims that your aged, crippled-up pets will be doing handsprings off diving boards and leaping tall buildings at a single bound! This miracle transformation will become apparent after only several spays of his 1,000 % herbal-blend of dozens of secret natural ingredients into your... Sign in to see full entry.

Circling the bowl, at Sage Haven!

The high point of the last ten days, here at Sage Haven, was the other day when I discovered how easy it is for a one-finger typist to type the word "brewery." From there on out, things just keep on hitting new lows. Sorta like all the economic figures being released lately. Each time my mechanic fixes one problem with my truck, the part right next to the last problem part, needs replacing, too. I actually got to drive it home one night. When I returned the next morning for a long overdue oil... Sign in to see full entry.

Eight days without my truck, and now THIS! GRRRRRR!

Today I replaced our tired, old, overused, worn-out, clunky, squeaky, clothing dryer with a less-used spare dryer from our garage. Clearing all the impediments in the pathway of the old, dead dryer and the newer dryer, to and through the bathroom doorway, took half a day to accomplish. Moving one half of a bottleneck threatened an avalanche of cereal boxes and canned goods that are stacked precariously because there is no more room for them in the shelves, pantries, or under the equally... What a WEIRD dream! And we drink well water, not the kind with drugs in it!

I don’t know what I ate last night, but it gave me the strangest dream! In it, I was an invisible observer of the life of Ted Geisel (hope I spelled that right) and his early attempts to become gainfully employed as a writer. He is the well-known “Dr. Seuss” who recently died. In my dream, Ted submitted an offbeat script to a cartoonist, hoping for a sale. It was about an alcoholic rodent who lived in a small brewery. All night long, he had the brewery all to himself and a few of his little... Sign in to see full entry.

Finding a way to salvage an uneventful hunting trip.

I don’t think I have ever written about my favorite rabbit hunting experience, before. I have told friends this story many times, just because I enjoy reliving it. My brother Perry and I trekked out to one of my favorite secret rabbit hunting spots, near Ann Arbor, Mi. accompanied by one of Perry’s friends and his young son, many years ago. Now it is probably a strip mall. Anyway our new hunting companions were visiting from one of the tiny New England states, I forget which one. This will be... Sign in to see full entry.

This is one VERY dirty deal! Heads should roll!

Lou Dobbs reported last night, that $35,000,000,000.00 is being spent by the U.S. Air force on the foreign made Air Bus tanker planes. That is 35 BILLIONS, not millions! 48,000 jobs are being outsourced to foreign contractors, if one takes all the parts suppliers and expert service personnel into the equation. If I were a member of the Air Force, I would be tempted to express my reluctance, as Jay Leno recently did, to FLY while aboard any vehicle called a bus. As a taxpayer, I can only shake my... Thoughts on the ravages of time, on OTHER people in my life! Sad but true.

This is an elaboration and improvement on an earlier blog I posted way back when I wasn't the seasoned sage that I have become, today. I hope that you agree and enjoy this. Guy I know that I am immortal but it would appear that I am not immune to some not so subtle signs that I am becoming older. This makes no sense to me because I have a covered portrait of myself in the attic, like Dorian Grey. That reminds me, gray hair is supposed to be confined to one’s head! I refuse to say where they are... Sign in to see full entry.
