Democratic?
Unlike other Western democracies, voting in Australia is compulsory. I find that strange, but there it is. Since I was out of the country visiting my family in March, I didn't vote during the State General Election. Naturally, I expected in due course to receive a Penalty Notice for Failure to Vote....
