Boredom and Heavy Duty Conversations

Got a lot accomplished after work today. Went to the bank, paid a bill, swam ten laps, cleaned the bathroom. I'm not as certain now as I was last week about staying at Oakland Mills. The people are great and I love the high school environment. But the work isn't much of a challenge, it's getting... Sign in to see full entry.

Work, Women and Church

I'm feeling more comfortable with the idea of staying at Oakland Mills for awhile. I can still go back to my state job anytime between now and January 2006, so I can be patient. I'll keep my eyes open for another part time job, but then I won't need one if I sell enough cards. Going to see Lisa a... Sign in to see full entry.

I've been thinking some more about my situation and I definitely want to stay at Oakland Mills and find a way to work things out moneywise. I get more satisfaction out of the job at Oakland Mills than at Social Services and it means a lot to me to be working close to home, not just for the... Sign in to see full entry.

Finding a way to stay

I'm a little worn out. Did a lot of walking around at work today so I figured I'd skip swimming because I already had some exercise. After one week at Oakland Mills, I like it so well that I'm going to figure out a way to stay. At $8.92/hour for at most thirty hours per week with no benefits, it's... Sign in to see full entry.

Awake and In the Swim

This is the best I've felt all week. On my third day at Oakland Mills I was finally awake enough to enjoy it and do my best. The people at Oakland Mills are really great. Something about teachers and anyone involved in education, they tend to be really nice people. (Of course, most people are nice,... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm still tired but less so today than yesterday. By tomorrow I should be fully adjusted to getting up at 6:30. Today went pretty well at work, I liked the work I activity "D" went to today better than the one yesterday. Landlady doesn't want me to have any furniture in the place except in my room.... Haven't been this sleepy in awhile. I'm not used to getting up as early as I had to today. Plus because I was worried about getting up, I had trouble going to sleep. A double whammy. Other than being sleepy the day went pretty well. I enjoyed working with my autistic young man. (I'll just call him... Sign in to see full entry.

Thought I take a break from writing greeting cards to write in my journal. Andrews and McMeel is looking for ideas in certain categories right away, so I have a better than usual chance of selling some stuff. I want to write as many as I can by Wednesday morning, that's the deadline. Lisa is here at... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm finally well today for the first time in over a week. Nothing like being sick to help a person appreciate their health. The other bit of good news is that I start that job at Oakland Mills on Tuesday. Now I'll have a decision to make when they finally get around to bringing me back to social...
