Rather strange that in Writing, the number one Blog has moved into first
place with an average of about five comments, while the number one previously was moved down getting an average of more than fifteen comments per day. Would you explain how this is possible. The number one block is a list also, should be in lists.
Abbreviations
I thought I'd be able to figure it out by context, but I give up: What do the abbreviations such as LOL stand for? Can someone fill me in with a list of most frequently used abbreviations and acronums? Thanks

Hi Vinxi --- Welcome to Blogit
This is a weird and wunnerful place. One day it is nothing more than a glorified chat room, the next day an invaluable tool for gaining feedback and helpful insight on your latest work in progress. In the year ( almost ) that I have been here I have run the entire gammut of this site's uses, distractions. pitfalls and wonderments. Where there are no real hard and fast rules as to what is suitable posting material there are some real and common sense guidelines. Adult content for example should be posted in the MA section and will be moved there if it is deemed to belong there ( fair enough ). All other categories are used at the author's discretion. It only makes sense however if you are writing an article about repairing cars for example that posting it in the Religion and Spirituality category may miss the intended audience.
The commenting aspect can be very important to gain readership. A means of letting people know you are here. Catchy or provocative headlines help as well. Ultimately you will find that the quality of your work is not the sole determining factor in gaining readership. ( it never is ) Some promotional efforts must be made to attract attention to yourself. Having said all of this Blogit can be a very useful tool. There is an eclectic mix of people here with a great variety of writing experience. From the rank amateur to published professionals. Much can be learned and much can be taught.
In the end it is up to the individual to derive as much as they can for their $6 membership from here. Blogit simply is what we as members choose to make it. Good luck with your writing endeavours.

New...
Hi. I'm new at this and I'm here because I consider myself a writer, yadda yadda. :) This looks really cool, except I'm confused by all the commenting and even some of what looks like conflicts. How does this work? Do I HAVE to let people comment on my writing? I thought if they liked it, they read it, if not they don't. If this "blogging" is really as much like room-chatting as it looks, then what do I need to be careful to write about? What is the protocol? Just thought maybe an experienced blogger could perhaps show me the ropes. ;) Thanks.

About Popularity Ratings
I am in the total dark about popularity rankings. For instance, I just joined Blogit and posted my first blog last night. Then I came upstairs to my office this a.m. and noticed my profile gave the blog a popularity ranking of 1531 or something. That doesn't mean anything to me. I mean obviously I get the ranking concept, but if you don't know the total number of blogs within your category, knowing your blogs ranking does little good. Where do you find out the total number of blogs in your category? I'm sure this data is available somewhere on Blogit, right? Thanks in advance everyone. Newbie,
Freezing computer screens
I've been told many times that people's computers freeze whenever they try to view my blog. Is there a reason for this?

I am currently trying to use photobucket.com but it seems it does not work in every computer or something... maybe with computer that have no cookies. Do any of you know if a better free photo uploading service? This would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I tried to have a check sent to my address for the money earned, and it went back to the previous screen, and my money is still listed on the earnings. Did it go through to you guys? I'm not sure how this works.
