Stewart reliable in Reliant Stadium.

James Stewart gunned his #7 Kawasaki into the lead and never looked back, keeping Ricky Carmichael some 6 seconds back of his rear fender and Chad Reed even further back, around 20 seconds I think. Watching James ride, one sees the ultimate combination of natural talent and superb conditioning. He... Sign in to see full entry.

Dirty ballet of a different kind.

It is the start of the Radio Control Car racing season here in the Pacific Northwest. That means the start of the Northwest Championship Tour. On the Tour website, http://www.northwestchamps.com/ the opening page features a black and yellowish green four-wheel drive modified buggy bouncing through a... Sign in to see full entry.

Why they do it.

Sliding through turns, hurling 30 feet high and 60 feet through the air with only two knobby tires to connect to the ground is fun for some people. Banging elbows in the first turn, blasting though a whoop section and taking a better line to gain a position put a smile on a face. Racers love the... Sign in to see full entry.

Kings of Supercross take Ford Field for a test ride.

Detroit, the first Supercross held at Ford field was another wild race. The return of Kevin Windham promised to shake things up, but in his qualifier, he bounced off the track, got a tuff-block cover stuck on his bike and ended up going into a 2 nd round qualifier. Chad Reed also had to go to a 2 nd... Sign in to see full entry.

How to convert a stadium into a dirt bike track.

MPO asked the question and it is true, all manner of stadiums are turned from green grass to mounds of dirt for bikes to race on. I don’t know every detail but first you must keep the dirt out of the grass, so you lay down some heavy plastic, over the whole field. Now, cover that plastic with sheets... The Citrus Bowl in Orlando Florida was the place that James Stewart finally got the crash monkey off his back. Ricky Carmichael and Nick Wey had to settle for 2 nd and 3 rd respectively. Chad Reed is still nursing a sore shoulder from the Daytona round and managed no better than 5 th after Ivan... Sign in to see full entry.

Daytona Supercross turns tricky after all.

Travis Pastrana breaks back fender attempting a backflip over the finish line. Daytona, the Grandfather of Supercross was once again a show. First, the behind the scenes low-down. Ernesto Fonseca had undergone surgery for a back injury he suffered at his practice track, and it was amazing to see the... Sign in to see full entry.

Daytona Supercross tonight on Speed Channel 6:30 Pacific

That is the latest information I have. Daytona is “the big one” in terms of size and points for the second half of the season. Last year Chad Reed floored everybody by winning here, can he repeat? Not if Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart have anything to say about it. MPO asked if there would be... Sign in to see full entry.

Ricky gets over a bad case of gas in Georgia.

The red clay of Georgia seemed to be all to Chad Reed’s liking as he took an early lead in the Supercross. Then Ricky Carmichael came charging through the pack to challenge Reed. Lap after lap they played cat and mouse until RC went by Reed for what would be the last time. Reed hung right on RC’s... Sign in to see full entry.
