MPO...
Yes, Paul Dana's death is terrible news. The last time someone died on a Supercross track was last year at San Diego, during an early qualifier. More recently and too close to home was the death of ltlmac70's son Willie, "Superfly" during a race at Spokane. Had my son still been racing, we would have been there, but an injury in the spring dampened his enthusiasm for racing, at least at the pro level. Yes, death is always just around the corner at all competitive sporting events. Tragic as that is, more tragic still is the number of people killed just travelling in their cars.

That's terrible what happened to Paul Dana (the IRL driver) ...
which had me wondering ... when was the last time anyone died on a Supercross track? If ever?
Because, obviously, dirt bikes are a lot safer than race cars. (But still not necessarily safe.)
Jack and Jill went up a hill
To fetch some marijuana
Jack got high, unzipped his fly
And Jill said, "I don't wanna."
