Going to Maine

Tomorrow I leave the security of subways, buses and sidewalks for rural, coastal Maine. I teach a week long course on funding documentary film at the International Film and Television Workshops in Rockport Maine in July and October. How I got this gig was purely accidental. LIVING WITH DOGS

HAIR

Everyone grew a lot of it in the 1960's. The musical HAIR opened in NYC first in 1967 and then moved on to Broadway in 1968 and became a huge hit. There was nudity and exhuberance on stage. PROTEST

Marching to the Boston Common in 1968-69 to demonstrate against the Vietnam War and for civil rights at home was the last time I was moved to the point of actually getting off my butt for my beliefs. SKATING IN TIME

When did you learn to swim, roller skate, or ride a bike? Chances are it was between the ages of 5 and 10.
