The World's Worst First Date ... No Contest!

This is probably the funniest date story ever, first date or not! We have all had bad dates...but this takes the cake. This just tells you how tough it is to be single nowadays. This was on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Jay went into the audience to find the most embarrassing first date that a... Sign in to see full entry.

More on the Abortion Issue

Wow, I stirred up some feelings with yesterday's post. I'd like to clarify and amplify a couple of the things that I said, so that people don't think I'm quite so much a monster as I seem to have left myself open to being yesterday. amfish said, "I think that the suggestion that you could pay a rape... Abortion: Always right, always wrong, or situation-dependent?

I believe that abortion is... wrong. Always. Even for rape victims. I know a rape victim who got pregnant (and this, btw, happens in less than 3% of cases), and she not only carried the baby to term, but she raised it as a single mother for several years until a wonderful and loving man married her... Flowers

This is one of the best times of the year, in my opinion. The world is bright and gauzy with the blooming colours of flowers, trees, and shrubs. It's beautiful. I love to drive down the street and see the interplay of bright yellow forsythia, white bridal veil, pink or orange spirea, lavender Redbud... Sign in to see full entry.

Terri Schiavo Has Gone to Her Maker

Terri Schiavo died this morning. Her body managed to live for 13 days after her feeding tube was removed and all hydration and feeding efforts were stopped. That, in itself, is a testament to the strength of the human being. It would show the greatest respect and kindness to her memory if we all let... Sign in to see full entry.

Better Late Than Never Means Visitors, Too

In September 2000, my then-husband's parents decided to drive from Washington state to visit us in Tennessee. They had not seen us or their infant grandchildren for more than 18 months, and they planned to stay with us for a couple of weeks. My husband was very excited about their visit, and we were... Sign in to see full entry.

A Prayer for Terri Schiavo and Her Family

Dear God: You are holy, just, and merciful. You alone know all of truth, all of fact. You alone know everything about the terrible, tragic situation of Terri Schindler Schiavo. We are human. We see imperfectly. We have incomplete knowledge. We must rely on You for wisdom, strength, and truth. Above... Sign in to see full entry.

Terri Schiavo Information and Links

If you are looking for information from both sides, I suggest wikipedia's Terri Schiavo entry. This site has numerous and exhaustive links to sites with information both in support of Terri's parents and in support of Terri's husband. It's the best place I've found to get a good idea of the... Learning From Terri Schiavo

As I write this, Terri Schiavo is dying. In a barbaric and inhumane manner. Her brother has stated that looking at her right now is like looking at a victim of the Nazi concentration camps. It's horrific. And it's hard to discern who is right. The truth, as usual, is probably somewhere in the middle... Sign in to see full entry.
