Shouldn't I be at a club or something?

Once again I am up at 2am and not having fun. Once again we got the middle-of-the-night irrigation slot. So I stayed up to turn on the irrigation, and now I'm going to bed and Otter will get up early to switch it from the back to the front. I am sooooooo ready to move to the real desert and never... If you ever want to know how depcrepit you've become....

.... go horseback riding. In particular, take a two-hour trail ride up and down the sides of mountains with a guide who likes to trot all the vaguely flat places because her horse "likes to keep a fast pace." I usually think that I'm in better shape than I was in my teens. That's because in my mind... Sign in to see full entry.

Where I Was On 9/11

In response to this question in a post by L4Taylor: I was cooking breakfast when Otter called out from the bathroom, "Turn on the TV! A plane hit the World Trade Center!" So I turned on the TV. At the time, this was a weird curiosity. What idiot pilot couldn't manage to miss the World Trade Center?... Sign in to see full entry.

"Regional Differences". Not lame. I swear!

You live in Arizona when.... You have over one hundred recipes for Mexican food. You can open and drive your car without touching the car door or the steering wheel. You've experienced condensation on your butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl. You know that "dry heat" is comparable to what... Sign in to see full entry.

We're heading back up to Sedona this weekend

And this time I'll finish my travelogue! I never did finish writing about the last trip two weeks ago! It's been nice to be kid-free, but now I miss the Baby Bunny and I'm ready for her to come home. I'm trying to schedule some mother-daughter horseback riding in Sedona. Otter doesn't like to ride... Sign in to see full entry.

Sometimes you're too busy to blog about the cool stuff you're doing....

....and sometimes you think back and say, "what the hell was I doing that I was too busy to blog? None of it was interesting at all!" Or, at least, not interesting to anyone else, or there isn't any conclusion that makes it seem worthwhile. For example, a.) I spent significant amounts of time... Sign in to see full entry.

My Reading for David 1 Spirit

Here is my reading for David1Spirit: Where You Are Right Now: For this position you drew the Financial Management card. This card makes a lot of sense in light of your long-term methods and goals. Sometimes when people have financial management on their minds, they are in some sort of crisis. In... Sign in to see full entry.

When it comes to skating, I'm Wonky's worst nightmare!

A few days ago Wonky wrote about ungracefully slamming down on her butt. Not only am I someone whom you are not likely to see falling on my butt, but as of last night I have become someone who looks out for OTHER people falling on their butts. Yes, last night I became a..... skating JUDGE! Otter and... Sign in to see full entry.

These are the depths to which American businesses have sunk

It used to be that when Americans or American businesses bought foreign products, it was because those projects were better in at least one way than an American product. For example, there was a time when the lowest-milage cars were Japanese, and there was a time when inexpensive Japanese cars had... Sign in to see full entry.
