This veteran is aghast . . .

that the supreme court in this land has okayed local government's thievery. Now if someone wants to take that nice little summer cottage of yours to locate a shopping center, all they have to do is approach city council, dazzle them with visions of more tax money for them to spend (or even some personal bribes) and they can declare the property no longer yous. We're not talking schools, roads or other items that the public needs and that are for the good of the public, we are talking condos,... Sign in to see full entry.

This veteran is ashamed of most of you . . .

We and our brothers in arms back to the days of the American Revolution laid our lives on the line, many gave their lives, to give us the government we have today, a representative form of democracy, a republic, a government that works best when its citizens participate. Where were you last election day? You certainly weren't voting, and, if you did, chances are you did not consider issues in the light of what is best for all our country. Many of you voted out of fear, encouraging your... Sign in to see full entry.

Howard Dean Has "Foot-in-Mouth" Disease . . .

According to a statement by Dean, Republicans don't make an honest living! Where did he get that? Anyway, read the article at: Dean Comments. If this is the Democrats' idea of a leader, this Howard Dean fellow, then the Democratic Party is in deep, deep trouble. Sign in to see full entry.

Congress is full of DUH-dley Dingleberries . . . .

CYA seems the term of most Congressmen/women these days. Instead of allowing votes, they filibuster; instead of following the wishes of constituents, they follow PAC monies; instead of thinking, the follow the leaders of their parties. I am certainly in contempt of Congress, and freely admit it. Time for a change, folks, no matter which of the two major parties you support. Are they really doing your bidding? If you think so, look and think again. Sign in to see full entry.

Uh Oh Un-Godly Partners

Virginia Senator George Allen seems to be good buddies with Pat Robertson, according to a news story in this morning's Virginian-Pilot. In my opinion, if there is a Satan or an Anti-Christ, it is Pat Robertson, so I naturally fear supporting any of his cronies. Sign in to see full entry.

Bush Administration wants to Kill Amtrak

How short-sighted can a government get? We need a national railway system for passengers. Amtrak has had problems due to money, equipment, etc., yet, the funding that they have been getting that helps resolve such problems may be witheld? That's assinine, Mr. Bush. The feds have given mega-gobs of money to the airlines; a fraction of that could fix and improve the railways for passengers in this country, offering a viable alternative to having to fly. Get your Senators and Congressmen to support... Sign in to see full entry.

This veteran with Libertarian leanings,

strong Libertarian leanings, is aghast at the actions of Congress and the President during th Shicavo fiasco. Neither the stae nor federal governments had any business getting involved, and the courts only as a result of law suits filed by those primary family members with disagreements. We are treading a dangerous pathway, a pathway to tyranny, whenever we allow the government to pry into private issues. Sign in to see full entry.

Listen, Read and Watch Closely . . . . .

The past week we have seen Governmental Bodies, particularly legislatures, governors, Congress and the President rush to take away the individual rights of both a woman and her husband. We have also seen the Judicial system under attack for doing their duty to prevent such un-Constitutionally criminal acts. Thank goodness for the jurists who continued to act Constitutionally, in spite of their personal ideologies. Sign in to see full entry.

Stop Hog-Tying Our Military

Even our President is cooperating with Congress as they try to declare how war is conducted. "War is Hell," and it should be Hell. Were it pleasant we'd want to participate more. Let's let the generals, the CIA, the interrigators and our armed forces do their jobs. There is no such thing as "murdering" an enemy soldier in a war zone. Enemy soldiers should be killed and no Soldier or Marine should be charged with any crime for shooting, stabbing, blowing away, maiming or otherwise harming an... Sign in to see full entry.

AARP is Full of Dung

This Navy Veteran is over 55 and is in full support of phasing out Social Security in favor of private retirement accounts. I do understand that to do this the government will require each working citizen to deposit a certain minimum amount of money into such accounts, but that those accounts will not be controlled by the government, nor will Congress be able to steal from them as they now steal from Social Secority. I have not joined AARP becasue so many of their stances are not in keeping with... Sign in to see full entry.
