Government is sneaking into Socialistic Habits

Giving away my money to the unwise, providing essentials to those unwilling to work, and encouraging a behavior rift with "gimme" without demanding work or money in return. We are slipping toward oblivion as a nation, at least as a free nation. Sign in to see full entry.

Albright Ain't So Bright

Madam Albright forgets that she was one of the key players who brought the world into this era of terrorism. It was she and her administration cronies who created the future in which we now live. Her raving pronouncements concerning why she supports Barak Obama neglect the darker side of his personality, no pun intended. His Wright outlook on spirituality seems to have lost its glare in Madam's eyes as well. Instead of a stateswoman, Albright showed herself to be just another political shill,... 9-11: Let's Get Over It

I hope this 9-11 cowtowing does not continue for as long as Pearl Harbor Day hung on as a "special day." Let the dead lie in peace. Let's move on. Let's do what we can to prevent loss of life, and, more importantly, prevent further loss of liberty in the future. The 9-11 incidents have lead to nothing but heartach, but it is not the kind of heartach from losing a loved one. It is the heartach one gets as it is realized that we are using such tragedies as excuses to stifle diversity, to become... Sign in to see full entry.

Still Not Voting for McCain . . . Or Obama

But if they were the only two choices, then McCain would have just put himself into my column. His choice of Sarah Palin was courageous and indicates a desire to get the job done, no matter the heartache in his own party. I hope the gambit works if my candidate, Ron Paul, (Perhaps Bob Barr?) does not carry the day. My thoughts concerning all the verbal hoopla from the Democrats is that they are frightened of her; she is so much more qualified in so many ways, outlined by her and her supporters... Happy Tax Day!

Again our government robs us of hard earned cash to pay for boondoggles, earmarks and an illegal war. We are, in essence, paying to allow our soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines to die and be physically and mentally mutilated. When are we, the people, going to stop this madness? President Bush is wearing thin with me . . . .

We were all hoodwinked, possibly even President Bush. But, now that he knows it, why is he so bent on "staying the course." A wise man would know if a course change is in order and adding roops is certainly not a course change; it is more of the same. This reminds me of the player at a "One-Armed Bandit" who keeps pouring coins into the slots, keeps losing and then says, "I need to add more; I know I'm going to hit the jack-pot." Eventually, he'll run out of coins and have to quit anyway, or he... Sign in to see full entry.

Good Show, Senator Elect (USMC Veteran) Jim Webb!

Senator-Elect Jim Webb is no Emily Post. I had to laugh, at not with, those Letter-to-the- Editor writers in the Virginian-Pilot. They were concerned that Senator-Elect Webb was being disrespectful to the president, that he was being rude, that he should have answered the President’s question politely. Baulderbutt! Jim Webb acted perfectly for the situation. The Virginian-Pilot Editor ial staff got it right, but the reader input was off by a mile. First, the event was a political event,... Our Nation's Capital is Unsafe

Washington, DC seems to be a "Mecca" of sorts for armed criminals, thanks to the draconian and definitely un-Constitutional gun laws in that city, supposedly capital of the free world. Well, so its citizens aren't free; that's just a detail. Yet, thanks to those most unfair laws, citizens in that city cannot protect themselves, their businesses or their homes without running afoul of the law, yet, criminal activity with guns is on a definite upswing in DC, and has rising regularly since the... Rumsfeld's Going, Going . . . . Gone!

Okay, one more blog on politics then back to more diverse topics. I promise. Unless someone in politics does something really weird. But, the Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld drop kick was a blog begging to be written. The voting machines had not even cooled down yet when Mr. Rumsfeld announced his “resignation.” It could be a coincidence, so many of those recently, that it was the morning after a searing set of set-backs for the Republican party. Rumsfeld was dropped like the proverbial hot... Sign in to see full entry.

This Veteran is getting fed up with this administration

We veterans and active duty service members all took an oath similar to that taken by our president and members of Congress to uphold the constitution. When are they going to keep their oaths as we did, as our brothers in arms fought and died for? I am becoming ashamed of our Executive and Legislative Branches of Government. Thank goodness the Judicial Branch is still on track with our Constitution, mostly anyway. Sign in to see full entry.
