We provide our own security level

by choosing for whom we will vote. That is whaat frightens me about Kerry; he would do nothing other than let the U.N. protect us. What a frightening laugh, the kind that sends shivers up my spine. We can survive a Kerry administration, if it degenerates to that during the election (and I doubt it... Sign in to see full entry.

Security on other than planes?

I'm ambivalent on this. I honestly think our other modes of transportation would have had precedence with terror mongers had they been vulnerable. It would have been more of a coup to destroy our trains before Spain's, I would think. Perhaps we are protected enough to deter those who would have done... Sign in to see full entry.

Secure at IHOP?

Not to pick on IHOP, because this could have happened at any restaurant, but locally, this past Saturday at 0230 at an IHOP, a diner was shot and killed, the bullet coming from a shootout between thugs across the highway from the IHOP. Can you imagine enjoying an early morning breakfast before going... Sign in to see full entry.

Forget Terrorists for a Moment.

How secure are we when we have roads and highways crawling with repeat DUI offenders. It is time for us to demand from our justice system the immediate and lengthy incarceration of those who are repeat DUI offenders. Call your state legislator now and demand that action be taken to take these drunks... Sign in to see full entry.

Just How Secure Are We

with the latest news of CIA and other security agency follies filling the news. Now it seems we could have prevented 9/11 had the FBI and the CIA communicated some vital information to each other. Is that scary or what? I do hope that those holes are being plugged. Sign in to see full entry.

What happens if one of those planes isn't cancelled?

They keep cancelling that same flight number from England. What happens if they don't cancel it once, at the wrong time? And what about the missing Soviet Suitecases with the enmclosed dirty bombs? Where are they? How secure are we. It is almost as if there has to be some sort of incident again, if... Sign in to see full entry.

Port Security

I wonder how a major port, such as the one in which I live, Norfolk, Virginia, ensures port security. It boggles the mind to think of the number of cargo pallets that are off-loaded each day, how many containers are placed virtually in the center of a region supporting over a million people. From my... Sign in to see full entry.

Secure at Home?

Our area has had about 6 people murdered just this weekend. True, it is an unusual number of murders, a statistical anomaly, but in my opinion it underlines the need for private citizens to be able to protect themselves by carrying concealed weapons unencombered by draconian anti-gun laws. Security . . . . A Democratic Party View

One of the funniest things I heard a Democratic Presidential candidate say last night was that we should turn Iraq and all our foreign relations over to the United Nations. I could not believe he said that with a straight face! Turing anything over to the U. N. is one sure way to lose our national... Sign in to see full entry.

How secure are we?

How secure are we when police burst into our public schools, guns drawn and roughing up the students with no probable cause, no due process and Gestopo-like behaviour? It seems that we are, statistically, treated better by terrorists than by our own law-enforcement officials. Sign in to see full entry.
