Not it yet, Gov't "thinkers"

Okay, take away the lighters; can't smoke onboard anyhow. How stupid! Are they going to ban everything a potential terrorist may bring aboard? Well, better be ready to fly nude, then. Clothing articles may be used to strangle people. How about a scarf laced with magneseum threads, all one has to do... Sign in to see full entry.

Patriot Act to be Reinacted?

That's scary. The patriot act is certainly not patriatic, and certainly does nothing to protect us. What it does do is give law enforcement agencies open season on anyone they damn well choose to harrass, with no oversight. We are slowly turning into a country akin to the facists of the 30s and 40s... Sign in to see full entry.

A so-called reverend had a letter to the editor today

in our own Virginian-Pilot. In the letter he bemoans the first gun show in Norfolk, VA since 1992 when they were banned by City Council in any city-owned building. Of course, only the city-owned "Scope" was large enough for such things, so, effectively they banned gun shows within the city. The... Sign in to see full entry.

Still no collaboration?

Read an interesting article yesterday on the lack of collaboration/information sharing among law-enfocement and homeland security agencies. Everyone seems to be wary of sharing vital information. They fear loss of pwoer, and we suffer with diminished security. Sign in to see full entry.

We will never be totally secure . . . .

until we demand and exercise our right to arm ourselves, wherever we are. It is not the law-abiding citizens who own and carry guns who are creating the murder and mayhem; it is those who are criminals or insane who are doing it. In each recent instance of a school shooting, one armed staff member... Sign in to see full entry.

Our Main Barrier to Our Security is Our Congress

A Congress who tries to interfere with personal lives while ignoring our illegal alien problems; a Congress that pussyfoots with criminals while taking away the rights of law-abiding citizens; a Congress that doesn't fully support our President's war policies, thus endanering all our lives and the... We are certainly not more secure from those who govern us . . . . .

Since they are able to lock us up, incommunicdo and without telling anyone they have us; this would be without benefit of atorney, or even your family knowing where you are. All for merely accusing you of being engaged with terrorists in some obscure way. Hey, want to get rid of someone for awhile?... Sign in to see full entry.

Compared to the rest of the world . . . .

We are secure, in spite of the "tom-foolery" of semi-trained TSAs at airports and un-watched trains, and vulnerable highway systems, etc. We must be doing great investigative work. What would be best is a giant, national "neighborhood watch" program, where we all look out for the unusual and... Sign in to see full entry.

How can any society ever be totally secure?

It can't, not without completely curtailing citizens' rights and individual freedoms, and that cost is far too high. The best we can do, and it is what President Bush is doing, is to go after those organizations with a fury and harshly punish those nations supporting terrorist groups. There can be...
