I’m sure it has happened to each of us at one time or another; be it in a theater during a show, standing in the line at the bank, in a church or funeral home…. or anywhere you are attempting to be quiet and dignified. Someone (usually whoever is with you) says or does something that strikes your... Sign in to see full entry.

TO BE, OR NOT TO BE...
I can remember hearing somewhere that we shouldn’t pay any attention, or better yet, not even read our horoscopes each day – that it’s a complete hoax. It seems the imaginary predictions of the astrologer, if taken too seriously by the reader, can influence what one will think or do. A mind over... Sign in to see full entry.

I JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS...
Sent to me by a friend ( my age) who noticed that my Facebook status mentioned something about my fickle memory..... The Sunday Paper This is dedicated to all of us who are seniors, to all of you who know seniors, and to all of you who will become seniors. It pays to be able to laugh about it when... NOW...AND THEN...
I was forced to stay and work from home yesterday, whether I wanted to or not. The steep hill, which is part of the lane, was now glare ice…all the way down. Because it was still pouring rain, there was no use trying to sand it – it would be immediately washed away. The satellite for internet was... Sign in to see full entry.

A CHOICE FOR BUD
Sometimes…we have to make difficult choices. And I have made mine – and Bud’s. There was no operation. Part of my job involves working with health professionals, but for humans. Cancer is cancer. Because they are what they are, I mentioned Bud’s condition. I told them where the tumor was located.... Sign in to see full entry.

I giggled for a long while... Sign in to see full entry.

THE BUD SAGA - A NEW CHAPTER
My Bud has cancer. I have been to see more than one vet. The first one guessed it was an abscess, then poked and probed in it with a needle to the point where I stepped back – Bud’s lip was curling and he was growling. It’s extremely rare, but when Bud does that, one pays attention. That dog can... Sign in to see full entry.
THE NEW NEIGHBORS - MEETING MY COOKIE-WOMAN
I woke early the next morning to silence. The generator had been shut down before going to bed, and I slowly dressed to go out to start it up. My caffeine addiction needed to be soothed. Out of habit, I unplugged it first, and threw a breaker, just to ascertain that power was still off. Surprise!... Sign in to see full entry.

A REQUEST FOR HELP
Dear Blogit friends, This is a copy of today's post in my regular family Blog - a little break (with an ulterior motive) from the 'NEW NEIGHBORS' story. Remember on my New Year’s Day post I mentioned all those messages that suddenly appeared in my Outlook? Some of them written in October? Well,... Sign in to see full entry.

MORE ABOUT THE NEW NEIGHBORS...
I was living right here during the Quebec ice storm in 1998. At the time, most of the dwellings in my area were vacation homes only, placing us at the end of the list for repairs and restoration of power. For 21 full days, in the middle of freezing winter, we were without hydro; no heat, no water,... Sign in to see full entry.
