Work has been really depressing lately. I used to have something positive everyday and usually something fun as well. To day was a rough one for one of our clients. She has a very old diabetic cat that she has had before husband, or children. The cat was always very large 17 pounds in a body that is supposed to be more like 12. He has been blind for a long time and it is becoming harder for him to get in the litter... Wednesday is what we call our late night. Normally we end afternoon appointments at 4:45 on Wednesday we go until 5:45, which means we are out of there at 6:00 or 6:30. Well today had some happy moments. The girl who lost her young basset last week came in with a new basset puppy. Unfortunately it is sick. She got it from the pet store. I wish she hadn't done that. I cant believe how many times every year I see animals suffer needlessly. An example of this is when cats and dogs get breast tumors. Bad time of the year for animals. Cold is setting in and all the old animals are starting to hurt. The feral animals don't have warm places to stay or enough food. And water is running short. Today was another sad day. Man!! we are having a lot of those lately. We had to put a young tan and black great dane to sleep today. He was a gorges, gentle and happy dog. The last two days have been strange some how. I don't know how to explain that, we just didn't have the natural flow. We seem to be having to put a lot of animals to sleep lately.
