Hold Judgement, Extend Love

Waiting for my parents and sister to arrive for Mother's Day. Am thinking they must have gotten stuck in traffic. That's city life for ya Went to church this morning but could only make it halfway through the sermon. I ended up out on the church lawn talking to one of the young girls about her recent abortion. That seemed much more important to me. I hope that by the end of our conversation she felt loved. I wasn't there to judge her. Just to love her. Isn't that what its all about? Blessed

My Elizabeth has come down with a bad cold. Her eyes are watery, her cheeks are pink as can be. She wanted to sleep with her 16 year old sister tonight. I wasn't big on the idea, as I didn't want her sharing those germs, but my Anna insisted it was ok. That she would take that chance. Some things are just that important. I am feeling utterly blessed Sign in to see full entry.

I am Back

Once again our computer was on the fritz. Apple has been a bit frustrating through this whole ordeal, but it looks like we are finally back in business, thanks to Apple manager Jeff down on Michigan Avenue. Thankfully no work was lost. My husband was nervous, as he has a deadline to meet for next week and was in the middle of a big project. Everything worked out. So we are breathing easy tonight. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. My parents are coming up to our place for a day of Chicago style pizza,... Sign in to see full entry.

Just say No

Today I had an experience which required me to stand up for myself, for my kids, for my husband and for our sanity which was being "threatened". Details most likely are too boring. Let me just say that we were invited on a three day trip for June, which I know would have stressed all of us out. Camping. Not our thing. We almost did it, just to be nice to those who invited us. And then I said, "Wait a minute. We are people. We have rights. They might not understand WHY this stresses us out, but... Sign in to see full entry.

Finally!

Finally, our computer is back....and fixed. Wow-it was a long two weeks without it, but a good two weeks. At first we really missed it. And then as time went on, it just started becoming normal to not have it. It made me start thinking back on the days of typewriters and snail mail and board games. There is something precious about those days that I really miss. Anyway, I am back and very happy to be able to read up on everyone's blogs. I missed you all! Sign in to see full entry.

Computer Issues

Our computer is having issues....so I will be missing in action for a while. We are on our way to the Apple store right now to bring it in. I hear we have 80 degree weather coming for the end of the week! So I would probably be outside "playing" instead of blogging anyway. Everyone have a good week! Sign in to see full entry.

Successful!

My friend had a successful surgery and the doctors are saying she is now cancer free! The plan is that she will be released from the hospital sometime tomorrow. Sign in to see full entry.

Another Day

Another day. I am grateful. Everyone is healthy, happy, content. We got Anna's room completely painted and put back together last night. My youngest has a cold but slept well through the night and is actually still sleeping. There isn't much on the agenda today. We haven't hit the school work much in the last weeks, due to my Grandma's and Uncle's funerals....and Easter planning at church etc....We really need to get back on a school schedule. My 12 year old told me last night that she is... Sign in to see full entry.

My Anna

16 years ago today at 4:41 a.m., my baby made her way into this world. A head full of black hair, porcelain skin and red rose-bud lips She weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 19 inches long. We named her Anna Elise. Happy 16th birthday, Anna! All my love, Mom Sign in to see full entry.

From Aqua to Eucalyptus

Ok, so Anna's room is not aqua...it is eucalyptus leaf green. That sounds so much prettier, doesn't it? And actually it IS! We put that first roller of paint on the wall and we all said, "Wow!". It's a lot nicer then we even imagined it would be. It is 6 p.m. and we are waiting for everything to dry before putting on the next coat. Outside the sky is dark, dark blue...a little bit gray. Looks like rain is coming. The air is still. The temperature is in the 70's (finally!) and the fresh air... Sign in to see full entry.
