Sophomore Retreat

Sophomore year was the first year we did a retreat. Retreats were done by homeroom. You were given a date at a retreat and could go to one of three places: The Agency for adults with developmental disabilities, a nursing home or a food service for people with HIV/AIDS. Brothers' Residence

The Christian Brothers at my school lived in the Brothers' Residence. It was a good-sized building, where their rooms, chapel and common area was. Christian Gregory

Christian Gregory was in my sophomore homeroom class. The year before, he was biology with Mr. Morse. Mr. Morse loved to call on Christian all the time, the funniest of which Mr. Morse asked him if he knew what the Pope was. "He's some sort of religious dude or something," came Christian's answer.... RIP Dr. Patten

I learned that over the weekend, Dr. Patten died. He was a science teacher at my high school, having taught me Human Anatomy and Physiology during senior year. Dick Bettor

Dick Better was my sophomore homeroom rep. I didn't like him during freshman year. I thought he was a bit of a jerk. I was struggling one time and he sarcastically went, "Yeah, man."
