BESA: Arabic for "keeping one's word"

BESA is the title of a new book by Norman Gershman. The full title reads, BESA: Muslims Who Saved Jews in World War II," and recounts the Albanians who committed themselves to saving the lives of 2,000 Albanian Jews persecuted by Nazis. Nearly 60 black and white photographs depict the heroism of the Muslims who rescued Jews and the pride of their descendants.
