For those of you who read my last post, you'll remember that the boys and I were travelling to Colchester yesterday to see our soccer team - Leeds United - play. We don't get chance to see them too often so when they play in East Anglia we do our best to get tickets. I've written about the match in... Sign in to see full entry.

A good 24 hours
Thanks for everyone who commented on yesterday's post. The concert at Ivan's school was really enjoyable. He played bass guitar in two pieces and cymbals and the triangle in another! There was a marvellous string quartet playing Brahms through to a jazz band playing Dave Brubeck; Susan and I had to... Sign in to see full entry.

If music be the food of love...
then Leona Lewis has failed me. I had her plugged into my ears on the train this morning but fell asleep. Nothing against Leona whose music I really enjoy and thought she was a worthy X Factor winner, but sleep was a more demanding lover. Had a nice evening watching England beat Ukraine in the World... April Fool
I've been staring at a screen since early morning and wondering if I'm the April Fool! I have been quite focused and tried not to think of the futility of what I do. Writing blog posts and feeds on Twitter keeps me sane and I punctuate my day job with little online asides which definitely does make... Sign in to see full entry.

The Cambridgeshire project
That sounds like a very grand title doesn't it. Actually it's been something that's been forming in my head for some time now and especially when I go for my long walks across this county. For a long time I've thought about putting together some pages on Cambridgeshire and other parts of East Anglia... Sign in to see full entry.

Another Saturday
and the weeks are passing more quickly than ever. I cannot believe it's been so long since I last posted properly or read your posts. I've been very busy in the day job and dreaming about not being busy or not in the day job the rest of the time. That last comment sounds awful doesn't it? I'm in a... Sign in to see full entry.

I can't believe
another week has passed and I've failed to post again. The day job is exceptionally busy at the moment but that's almost more reason to write and read you all. I have managed to post to my BookMark blog again today and also submitted a picture to Shutterchance so I'm beginning to get going again! I... Sign in to see full entry.

Sorry
for not having posted for so long. The day job has become busier than ever and you know what it's like when you are really focused on something - it's hard to extract your self without feeling guilty. I know that's daft and there are much more important things for me to be getting on with - such as... Sign in to see full entry.

Edgy but not on the edge
After that demotivating Monday the week didn't really get much worse. I know that people there are posturing more and more because they don't want to appear in the redundancy window later in the year, should the company do badly. Is'n't it ironic that they pretend to be such good 'company people'... Sign in to see full entry.

How to cry with statistics
I spent much of last Thursday preparing some statistics for our various websites, complete with charts and commentary etc. The reaction in today's 'management meeting' was, as usual, negative. Yes, they could see growth illustrated but weren't the numbers very low etc etc. What they never get is... Sign in to see full entry.
