As usual, I enjoyed my nip-tea session with my friends Pepper, Penny and Ali. Although Ali promised us she wouldn't overindulge in all those taste-tempting treats at Taste of Chicago, I still worry, because she's still only a kitten and does not have any concept of her own limitations. We all love... Sign in to see full entry.

6/28/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
Today, my human goes to yet another doctor. This one specializes in human infectious disease. She wants to go to this appointment because she had such severe infections both times she went missing this year - in February, she came down with bacterial meningitis, as well as sinus and ear infections.... It seems as if my human has started another blog - All I Love About U2, or some similar title. My human sister is a fan of this rock group, taping everything containing references to it or its lead singer Bono. She has promised to help my human write about U2 in her blog. I do hope this blog does... Sign in to see full entry.

Today, my human goes to the doctor, then has her blood drawn. I hope things go well for her; she is taking her medication as directed by the doctors who took care of her the last time she went missing on me. I might have mentioned that this is something she needs to discuss with her transplant... Sign in to see full entry.

6/25/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
My humans are going out today, to someplace called church. I'm not sure what that is, exactly; all I know is that my humans' spiritual beliefs differ from mine in some significant ways. For example, my human does not believe in the concept of the Rainbow Bridge, preferring instead to feel that we... Sign in to see full entry.

I plan on being very lazy today, laying on top of my cat stand (a place my idiot brother Michael likes to coopt every so often, for some strange reason), watching the sun warm the Earth. I feel I've earned this privilege; after all, I've been a busy cat these past few weeks, while my human has been... Sign in to see full entry.

Ali had me worried last night when we went out to eat tuna pizza. She overate again, and got sick as a result of doing so. The poor kitten just doesn't know her own limits yet; consequently, she needs to be watched like a hawk. To compound matters, my human is not in the best of moods. She describes... 6/22/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
I didn't get a chance to write today's entry until now because my human has had problems with her left shoulder. As regular readers of this blog know, I generally solicit either her help or the help of my male human to write this blog; it's rather hard for me to type using paws and claws. Yesterday,... I've been searching the Web (with the help of my human) this morning, and I found something on kidney failure in dogs. (Regular readers of this blog will remember that I talked about kidney transplantation in cats yesterday.) Apparently, there are two centers - one in Minnesota and one in California... 6/20/2006 Nurse Garfield's Field Notes
At my human's behest, I am devoting today's entry to a topic near and dear to her heart - transplantation, specifically kidney transplants in cats. It turns out that transplantation in cats has been done since the turn of the last century; in fact, the first feline kidney transplant was done in... Sign in to see full entry.
