Historical biases

For history senior seminar this week we had to read a book called Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings: An American Controversy, by Annette Gordon-Reed. Its about the long-standing question of whether or not Thomas Jefferson fathered Sally Hemings's children. The author claims that Jefferson was definitely the father, although more recent DNA testing has shown that the real father of Heming's children was not Jefferson, but his brother.
