Cell (phone) Complexity

I got a new cell phone two months ago. I still don't know how to use it. Right now, the only thing I could do on the phone is make outgoing calls. I'm actually going backwards. I used to be able to take incoming calls too. Then last Sunday I put the phone on silent for church. It is now Thursday. I... Sign in to see full entry.

No Pain, No Gain Makes No Sense

Working out at the gym today, I started thinking about the phrase "no pain no gain." It's pretty stupid if you ask me. In terms of exercise no pain no gain is supposed to mean that if you don't feel pain while you're working out, you're not doing enough and you're not accomplishing anything.... Where's the Harm in Gay Marriages?

I've been waiting for awhile now. I've been waiting for someone to offer one valid reason why gay people shouldn't be allowed to marry. One reason that's based on rational thought rather than fear and ignorance. Anybody? I'm sitting here stuck on what to say next. Here I am writing a piece in... Sign in to see full entry.

Capital Ineffectiveness

Capital Punishment is ineffective, immoral and expensive. Other than that, it's a great idea. The fact that capital punishment is still practiced in the United States is the ultimate example of emotion rather than reason guiding our decisions. It's been proven over and over again that capital... Sign in to see full entry.

#$@&% Winter!

I hate #@%*% winter. Oh excuse me. I don't normally talk that way but it's been a rough month. You see here where I live in Merryland, we normally have winter lite. A typical midwinter day gets up to about 40 degrees in the daytime down to about 25 at night. Most years we have one little cold snap... Sign in to see full entry.

Mystery Millions

I've gotten some pretty weird emails but the one I got the other day takes the cake. The sender of the email claims to be the attorney for the late Michael Powers. It seems Mr. Powers was an American working in Nigeria. According to the story I got Mr Powers, his wife and his three children were all... Sign in to see full entry.

A Not So Fine Dining Experience

Sometimes things are so bad, they go all the way around the bend and turn out good. Take the lunch I had today. Please. When my girlfriend and I first got to the restaurant, we were seated at a table that was so wobbly, we thought there was an earthquake. When we complained to the waiter, he tried... Other People's Partners--Express an Opinion, or Not?

For some reason or other, I started wondering the other day what my friends and family members think about my girlfriend. I've been dating Lisa for about 15 months now and we've been living together for about nine months. Most of my friends and family have met her, but most haven't said much about... The Disembodied Hand

I was fifteen, maybe sixteen. It was a typical Saturday afternoon, which meant taking the bus to the mall, getting some lunch, maybe hanging out with some friends. After getting to the mall and consuming my usual two slices of pizza, I felt the need to "answer nature's call". The men's room was... Sign in to see full entry.

How to Fix a Leaky Roof

A leaky roof is too often a cause for panic. The sightest drip can cause visions of damaged furniture, ruined carpeting and enormous repair bills. It doesn't have to be that way. With just a little know-how, a leaky roof can be fixed more easily and cheaply than you ever thought possible. Just... Sign in to see full entry.
