My Most Admired Person

Someone asked me the other day who I admired most. I've been thinking about it for over a week now and I've come up with the answer. The person I most admire is (insert drum roll here) da dat dat dat da da da--myself. And the quality I most admire in myself is my modesty. Okay I'm kidding about the... Sign in to see full entry.

My Favorite Compliments

I'm a terrible flirt. But I'm going to keep practicing until I get better. I find nearly every woman I meet to be beautiful and charming and I can find all kinds of ways to let them know. "That's a nice outfit. At least I think it is. It's hard to tell because everything looks nice on you" (On... Sign in to see full entry.

Minor but Revealing

Sometimes in an election there's an issue that's not important in itself but a candidate's position on the issue can provide an insight into his thinking that gives the voter a clue about how he makes decisions in general and how he would govern. The 2004 election has just such an issue, namely gay... Sign in to see full entry.

Refusing to be Ripped Off

I wrote a few weeks ago about cancelling my cell phone service with AT&T wireless. Yesterday, I got the final($499) bill and had loads of fun with it. I turned the bill over and wrote a note explaining to these con artists precisely why their bill was not going to be paid. I wrote about the extra... Sign in to see full entry.

Sunscreen? I'll take my chances

I won't be using sunscreen this summer. Maybe I'm just being stubborn or cynical, but I don't believe in sunscreen. I think the people who make sunscreen are just trying to scare me into buying the stuff. Gotta wear sunscreen they say. If you don't you'll get skin cancer. That ole sun is out to get... Judy's Loss

Someone wrote a book a few years back called something like "Why Bad Things Happen to Good People" I never read it but maybe I should. Maybe it would help me understand why Judy's husband died. If you're talking about good people, you'll never find a better example than Judy. I know Judy from... Sign in to see full entry.

Cell Phone Ripoff

I feel good. Why? Just cancelled my cell phone service. They were ripping me off. I'm supposed to being paying $59.99 per month. Got the bill. It was $78.78. Good for a lottery number, bad for a cell phone bill. Called the company, AT&T Wireless. They gave me a long list of taxes and fees that added... Sign in to see full entry.

Dandy Lions

This time of year, a lot of people are trying to get rid of dandelions. My question is Why? Most people seem to think of dandelions as ugly weeds, that need to be disposed of like garbage. Personally, I like dandelions. I think they're beautiful and wouldn't think of destroying one. I think a big... Sign in to see full entry.

Pround of Myself, Not my Country

Those of us who live in the United States are supposed to be proud of it. "Proud to be an American" goes the phrase. If you're not proud to be an American, you're an unpatriotic rat who ought to be kicked out of the country. I'm not proud to be an American. It just happens to be the country I was... Commercials that Make Me Sick.

Is it just me or are there a lot of ads for drugs on TV these days? No not those kind of drugs. Medication. Not only are there a lot of ads on TV for different medications but most of them are for prescription medicines. I don't get it. Apparently I'm supposed to go to my doctor and tell her what to...
