Probably not
Shavonne, but I'm not personally responsible for that. That's why I say I'm happy to be an American, but not proud.

Hum.  To be proud of yourself is to be proud of your country.  Think of all the opportunities you've had to get you where you are today.  Do you think you would've had the same opportunities had you been born and raised elsewhere?

Pride that Americans feel for America is felt because it is an accomplishment.  For mankind.  A free nation, built on priciples of our own choices.  We are less abusive to the 'lower ranking' Americans (i.e. the poor, the uneducated) than the lower classes of people in any other country, we have better civil liberties, freedom of speech, etc.  These things, along with the small personal accomplishments we all make daily, add up to a pride in our country.  I'm not saying BRAVO!! AMERICA'S FAULTLESS!!  I'm saying be proud for the part you do to make this a better place.  That's all.
