I was buying a limp plant the other day... it is a croton, usually an upright sort of potted shrub, but this is a hanging version. At least, the leaves are long and hang from upright stems, and this one is in a hanging pot. It was limp from lack of regular watering, and so I got a good deal on it.... Sign in to see full entry.

Prompt: Hats
CC noticed a hat in one of my pictures, so I have posted a few more views of my hat rack. I collect hats for costume use, and I make hats, and sometimes there's just a hat I really like. For years, I didn't wear hats, thinking I looked silly in them. In fact, I hear that a lot. I started to heal... Sign in to see full entry.

New Words
Have you heard, or made any new words lately? My favorite new one is the uncalled-for but irresistable bit of snippiness and superiority: snarkasm. And older one I still find use for, refers to the detritus in the street remaining after a collision: accidue. It's true that some made-up words simply... Sign in to see full entry.

prompt: Found!
If looking for frog him name Hopkin Greenfrog... This was a note someone found blowing around in a park. Some 'finds' are scraps of paper with words on, found in old books, or pockets at a thrift store. Some are bits of metal twisted into new shapes, their original purpose unrecognizeable. Some are... My personal approach is, to leave out the ones that are not necessary, for a reader to make sense of the material, on the first reading.... Sign in to see full entry.

An editorial rant: There is no such word as 'alright.'
It's all right. And it isn't alot, it's a lot. It's is the contraction of it is, and its is the possessive form. Speaking of contractions, it is never correct to say should of unless you are writing it into dialogue for someone ignorant of basic English: Should've is the contraction of should have.... Big Moon: photographic response to the prompt, and haikus
Getting a good clear shot of the moon isn't easy, especially when the contrast of deep dark and brilliant white confound the camera's limited eye. Somehow, I cajoled my Nikon to do it, all the same. http://www.flickr.com/photos/therovingeye/ Running through the hills I revel in the moonrise Over and... Sign in to see full entry.

prompt: The Big One
The moon is going to be full tomorrow night, and as big as big! The prompt is to write a poem of any kind, of the biggest full moon of the year. I am going to come up with something haiku or possibly tanka, as mentioned by Annacita. Sign in to see full entry.
