We have missed so many astronomical wonders this past year because of overcast skies--What a fine thing it is to have a sky brilliantly clear tonight, to observe the lunar eclipse from first shadow to totality, and now moving out of shadow. I've gotten a few good enough shots though my skills with this camera are not as great as the occasion demands, and it focuses when it wants to, not necessarily when I want it to! The convention,COSine, is over. Really over: they say there will not be another as all the creators and runners are retiring and no one has come forward yet willing to take on the massive amount of organizing and sheer work that goes into even a small fan convention like this. They kept it going 14 years, which isn't too bad. It was small and not well-attended, though the art show was rich with quality, true art.
