Once again, science has found a way to model an aspect of the universe previously otherwise only modeled by spiritualists. My teachers taught about 'energy cords' that connect physical people in non-physical yet real ways. I've written here before on the topic of energy cords. They are independent of the laws of physics, being unlimited by considerations of such physical world imperatives as linear time and defined space. Quantum physics now recognizes the phenomenon of remote, non-physical yet... Sign in to see full entry.
Reading the Rocking Rector Retired today, she brings up the dialogue between atheists and others, which reminds me of something I posted some time ago on the topic. Here it is again, updated and edited... Is it stupider to believe there is, or is not God? In a comment in the previous post, Gepruitt brought this up: that there is a general idea, even assumption, that people who believe in the reality of God are shallow. I have noticed that people on both sides of the argument frequently have... Sign in to see full entry.
There was a time, this particular piece of poetic prose was everywhere, like long necklaces of dyed seeds and fringed vests. It was over-exposed and so finally, by many, dismissed. I think it is worth another look. http://www.fleurdelis.com/desiderata.htm Sign in to see full entry.
Change seems to be in the very air, the climate, for the world and for people individually... Of course, change always happens, and sometimes we are just paying more attention. But many people I know seem to be experiencing cataclysmic shifts in their worlds just now... some for better, some for worse, maybe--some still waiting to see what's what when the dust settles. Energy that does not flow is like blood that does not course through the veins and arteries... worse case is numbness, worst is... Sign in to see full entry.
Love’s Not Always Pink Love’s not always pink-- It’s what you feel and live not what you think. Sometimes it’s what you give or are allowed to take or nothing you can have for someone else’s sake. Love’s not always song-- its voice not always heard or clear and strong. Sometimes it’s just absurd and makes no kind of sense Or it speaks without a word, has neither rhyme nor tense. Love’s not always glee-- It has its moods and swings and doesn’t see. Sometimes imaginings turn into fear and doubt or... Sign in to see full entry.
In the body, they are busy leading lives, learning lessons, experimenting and exploring... and though they live in different worlds, have strongly different attitudes about some things, they have interesting affinities about others. In this life, they are not going to connect in more than passing greeting, brief acknowledgement, perhaps in conscious thought a sigh, if only... and in that momentary encounter, an agreement is made: In another life, we will do this right... The agreement is between... Sign in to see full entry.
Once again, Auden's lines run through my head arousing thoughts, connecting me with my feelings, creating new notions... I used the verse as a prompt in the Prompts blog and reprinted the entire poem here, and now revisit it again. In the past week events move me on from Auden's wistful yearning to another: It is the craving of every human soul, as much as to be loved as individual, to have another to whom to equally give love, and be happily, ungrudgingly received from. We enter into our... Sign in to see full entry.
September 1, 1939 W. H. Auden I sit in one of the dives On Fifty-second Street Uncertain and afraid As the clever hopes expire Of a low dishonest decade: Waves of anger and fear Circulate over the bright And darkened lands of the earth, Obsessing our private lives; The unmentionable odour of death Offends the September night. Pleased to report that Blogit Staff have discovered and surgically removed the element in a prior post that caused the malware warning yesterday. It was something embedded in content I had copy/pasted previously--the poem Children Learn What They Live. A suggestion has been made that hereafter such content be intrduced using 'plain text.' People are planets that do sometimes collide... We explore those planets when we go inside another person's thought and feeling discover what the silver atmosphere's concealing; different laws of nature may apply to different creatures under different sky... A world may be hostile to our hearts, our breath... May lead us far astray into confusion, even into death... Yet some planets do attract us by the soul; and so connect us, thus between us we are whole: sashaying through the cosmos twirling... Sign in to see full entry.
