While it is supposed to be hot and humid again today, it won't be as bad as yesterday. That's small consolation in the heat, but sitting outside, under the trees, is still a nice way to spend the day. The dogs dig pockets in the dirt, and snuggle down into the dampness of the ground. I've mentioned... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm going to relax today and spend most of the day under the trees outback. The dogs and I enjoy it, and it gives me time to think. We are headed to about 100 degrees today, so vigorous activities of any kind aren't high on our list. I've given thought about setting up the BBQ grill for later this... Sign in to see full entry.

Just Me Yakking
I have an appointment with a neurologist who specializes in the treatment of Parkinson's today at 4 pm. That would be alright, except the place is ~150 miles away... or about two hours there... and two hours back. Add in the time waiting in the outer waiting room, then the time waiting in the exam... Part Nine - The Custodians Thomas Mercer had spent most of his life believing history belonged to everyone. He often told people, ‘That’s why courthouses, archives, and old paper mattered.’ History was supposed to be available and preserved. It needed to be shared, but somewhere between Ruth... Just Me Talking
Good morning. The Weather Channel is telling us that we will hit 98 degrees today. Joy. It's already 90 at 10 am. I had intended to work on doing some more writing, but I suspect that by noon, the only comfortable place in the house will be our bedroom. I will keep pushing for as long as I can, but... Part Eight - The Shape of the Elephant
Part Eight Thomas did not speak during the drive home, and neither did Linda. Professor Benton had remained standing on his sister’s porch long after they pulled away, one hand resting on the porch rail as though the old wood had suddenly become necessary. On the contrary, Ruth Benton had not... Sign in to see full entry.

One Thing, Please!
After you have written and edited a story several times, you begin to overlook the little things. If you see something that isn't right or doesn't read as it should, PLEASE TELL ME!! I've been married for 52+ years (LOL!!!!) so there's precious little you can do or say to me that will hurt my... Sign in to see full entry.
PART SEVEN The House With Too Many Books
PART SEVEN The House With Too Many Books Morning arrived wrapped in gray clouds. The rain had moved through during the night, leaving everything washed clean. Water still dripped from the live oaks lining Main Street while puddles reflected storefronts that looked older than the people who hurried... Sign in to see full entry.

And the Rain Continues To Fall Here At The Astrodome
I think I mentioned this before, but I'm going to say it again. (And yes, it has been raining here on and off all morning.) The story I am currently posting is loaded with conversations. I don't know about the rest of you, but a back-and-forth conversation is one of the hardest things to do... for... Sign in to see full entry.
Just A Regular Post
Good morning. We have a series of heavy thunderstorms wandering through the area, so I picked a wonderful time to add this note. I'm making a double post, so if you are reading my post as I go story, it is directly under this post. The story has been relatively calm, but things are about to change.... Sign in to see full entry.
