This is Wagner Falls, one of my favorite falls in the Upper Peninsula. I was demonstrating to my then girlfriend (and now wife!) what happens if I prolong the time the shutter stays open by even a tenth of a second. I was always amazed at the size of the Snowy Owls that would fly from the Artic Circle to winter in southern Canada and along the northern border of the United States. I found this big female Snowy sitting on a fence post, watching for mice or rabbits. Sign in to see full entry.

This Trumpeter Swan's bill is covered in ice, but he is still able to eat. Some people were tossing corn out to a group of swans, and in pursuit of that corn, this bird came right up to me! Sign in to see full entry.
