Of multiplication of fish and of album release..

We were supposed to be 10, then 13, then finally we ended out 16! Friends of us ran into good friends that we had not seen for quite some time and invite them to come along to our place for the Easter diner! With three more mouths to feed my Mann was a bit worry the lamb leg would not go that far,... Sign in to see full entry.

It`s Easter tomorrow! Are you ready?

OK Gang, it`s Easter tomorrow! Are you ready? I think I am. I hope I am. The leg of lamb is in the fridge, ready to be slowly roasted over veggies, with garlic and thyme, the fish is in there too. The chocolate and strawberry mousse cake is in the fridge (and look quite good if I may say so myself!... Sign in to see full entry.

A white Christm...Spring!

I decided to accept the offer from the Univ. of Ottawa. It will always be possible to hop out of it later if I decide to stay with the gvnt. I was hoping to meet with my manager this week, but she is so busy right now (end of fiscal year) that she doesn't seem to have any time before next week or... Sign in to see full entry.

Lazy Birthday and lamb hunting!

We didn't do much for my birthday and even if I did have asked for a nice big butcher knife, that's not what I got! Nop. I got some chocolates instead. Oh, and yes; a very nice digital camera!!!! It was rather expensive, so, I'm paying part of it with my dad, my mom and my Mann! Son was quite nice... Sign in to see full entry.

Half a life passing by...

Who would have thought that at 45 I would still be thinking about what to do for a "career"? I thought when I started University so many years ago that by the end of it I would fund a nice position in a university and become an eternal prof! But little did I know that at the time of my graduation in... Sign in to see full entry.

The cost of the future!

I've heard today that a study has now demonstrated that there is a correlation between obesity in young kids and their postal codes (zip codes for those in the USA). It is the first geographical study of obesity and it was done in US by a team of researchers in Seatle. It shows a very strong... Sign in to see full entry.

News from China!

I just got an e-mail from a German friend I met last year in Spain. She is in China now to learn the language and to discover the country! And her sister is going to join her next Monday. That's wonderful news and I am a bit jealous here. I start to feel and hear the call of the travel Demon! And... Sign in to see full entry.

Spring cleaning and high praise!

I had a day off yesterday so I did a big spring cleaning in the house's main floor. And while at it, I moved all the furniture around in the living room. You see, our fireplace is not just a cute decoration, it is one of the two heating sources of the house (the other being a ground water furnace)... Sign in to see full entry.

Another day, Another dollar

Or so they say. Which made me think that for some of us, in other countries, the saying is true: they have only ONE dollar to go on for the day. But then again, if you live in a place where most people survive on a dollar a day and you make, say, 2 dollars a day, then you're rich. That shows that... Sign in to see full entry.

Little visit at the ER

We had a little excitement on Saturday late afternoon and evening; Son had fever and so, we ended out in the ER in Ottawa to make sure that he was OK and that he had no infection in his "repaired" ear. Fevers are usually a sign of infection and after an operation you can't be too careful. After... Sign in to see full entry.
