Real Men Wear Kilts

December 15 has been proclaimed the Official Kilt Day of 2007. So take out your kilts for an airing, gentlemen. You don’t need a brave heart to wear one, right? But whatever you do, don’t forget your knickers as this Lance Corporal did as he lowered the British flags at the Cenotaph memorial in Hong... Sign in to see full entry.

The more you have, the more you lack

That was one of my mother's favourite statements. During my poor student days I used to feel that I owned the world even though at times I didn’t even have 2 coins to rub together. Now, I’m not so poor any more (mind you, that doesn’t mean to say I’m rich – nobody is in a welfare state) but I have... Sign in to see full entry.

Bloggers violate copyright

I wonder if that is a general practice among bloggers. I happened to come across a comment by a Blogiteer telling another Blogiteer off for passing off somebody else’s work as his own. If I pass on a funny story I read in a newspaper is that an infringement of copyright? If I pass on a recipe which... Sign in to see full entry.

Cashew Nuts are Poisonous

Brawny and Brainy

Is it a fact that brawny people are not brainy? If you look around you, you’re likely to find a few fine examples. Fortunately, you’re just as likely to find just as many fine exceptions to the conception/misconception… … like the champion weightlifter, as beefy as you can get, who participated in a... Neolithic Genes

Have you ever reflected on the way men and women shop? When a man goes into a shop he makes a bee-line for whatever he had set out to buy and then out again, while a woman may look in different shops before she decides. Some anthropologists claim it’s all in our Neolithic genes. Men are hunters --... Sign in to see full entry.

Occupational Hazard

A female member of a European royal household got somewhat p @åäö ed off at a persistent journalist asking her to confirm rumours about her pregnancy. She hissed at him, "Getting pregnant is an occupational hazard of being a wife." Oh my! Did she really say that …? Sign in to see full entry.

Greater than God

A former Canadian Prime Minister once said, "I am greater than God. I have two sons born on Christmas Day while He had only one." Did he really say that … or did I make it up? Sign in to see full entry.

Animal Dung Coffee is Best

The most exclusive coffee in the world is made from animal dung. The brew comes from the dung of Indonesian civet cats. These animals love c offee beans which, as they pass through the digestive tract, get fermented in the process. The dung is harvested by plantation workers and.... Did you really... Left-handed people are smarter

Do you agree? Australian researchers have shown that connections in the left and right-hand side of the brains, or hemispheres, are faster in left-handed people and that makes left-handers more efficient when dealing with multiple stimuli like playing computer games or sport. It has also been... Sign in to see full entry.
