Achooo! That was my morning experience. My pain and misery has been so much concentrated in the sinuses that I was surmising that, alas, I am developing springtime pollen allergies. Growing up in South Dakota, I suffered through ragweed pollen in the fall; and that went away when I moved to another... Sign in to see full entry.
The Fight Against Litter: An Exemplary Volunteer
Litter, I have been informed, was at one time an act of ignorance across the whole of society, not so many decades ago. Yet when the crying Indian commercial aired I was but a young boy, so I may not have ever become conscious of full extent of litter's blight across the land. I have been raised not... Multi-Tasker Extraordinaire
We seldom appreciate the demands placed upon customer service workers. I marveled at this yesterday when I witnessed a customer service worker multi-tasking behind the counter at an office/computer supply store. I went in there to send a fax. At the time, the worker had to balance that between me,... Sign in to see full entry.

Keys In The Front Door
A local radio personality admitted leaving her keys in the front door. That has made me brave enough now to admit to the same. It is embarrassing to say the least, and it's fortunate nothing bad has ever came from it for me. One time, years ago when I worked at a campground, I thought I had locked... A Great Lady Has Passed On
The Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher has left us. She died at the age of 87. She left behind an impressive legacy, rising to the level of Great Britain's prime minister and implementing with great conviction conservative policies that did much to overturn Britain's quagmire of social programs. She... Sign in to see full entry.

An Objection To Wasteful Hunting
A former taxidermist told me he has eaten plenty of elk meat. I assumed he had hunted for it. No, he told me. The elk were brought to him by hunters who were only interested in a stuffed elk's head mounting. To them, the meat was an afterthought. At least they gave the elk meat to the taxidermist.... So Do I Dip Back Into The Dirty?
No shoes and only worn clothes. Such was the state that I read of many American soldiers who camped with General Washington at Valley Forge. I take too much for granted, even when I have gone a long spell without doing laundry. Finally, I did my laundry today, but I was down to socks that had holes... Sign in to see full entry.
Contradictions In Cellphone Brain Damage Studies
Brain cancer, for a time, was the scare in heavy cellphone use. Now that has largely been allayed. More recent fears, however, have surfaced, indicating Alzheimer dementia-like effects on the brain. It was with this latest fear that a friend of mine advised me to get headphones for my cellphone. He... Sign in to see full entry.

An Expansion Of The Jeremiah Principle
Jeremiah's obedient service in the face of empty results was the subject of my blog yesterday in my scriptural blog-- Some Thoughts On Scripture. In the course of my blog I expounded on the priciple of free will as opposed to forcing people against their wills, i.e. controlling them. As such, I feel... Sign in to see full entry.

Unusual Calendars And Language Curiosity
Vertical, not horizontal, were the dates on the foreign language calendars I received from my California friend. He is on the board of a Christian mission organization that includes an outreach to India. He gave me the calendars, because many of my coworkers are Asian Indian by heritage. I brought...
