"Jesus Kept His Mustache"

One never knows what bumper stickers will appear out there. I saw one today that stated: "Jesus kept His mustache." What is the point of that little quip? The only thing I could think of was that it was a "manly" man's rationale for keeping his mustache over the objections of his wife or girlfriend.... Sign in to see full entry.

Maybe Boneless And Skinless Is The Way To Buy

For a bargain on chicken thighs, I waited an extra five minutes at the sotre for the price to be marked down. I bought a couple of packages, and, consistent with my usual pattern, I selected packages that were not deboned and which still had its skins. I find thighs equally as satisfying as breasts... Sleep Texting?

Thirty-five percent of us text in our sleep cccording to a trivial fact I heard on the radio. I find that hard to believe. Are people really that addicted to texting? I do not myself go to bed clutching my cellphone (or smartphone for those keeping up with the trends), so I cannot even relate. In... Sign in to see full entry.

Binary Confusion

One would think that with only two choices it would be easier for one to get it right. Surprisingly, in many instances, people stumble about and get it wrong if they are down to two choices. During my off days, I have come to appreciate them, too. I have been making my own, as a creative way to utilize my ample supply of blueberries--even... Sign in to see full entry.

Reading Glasses

At first it started with reading things at night, under poor lighting. Then it came with reading maps. More and more, I have had to rely upon magnification to be able to read things. Finally, I deemed it impractical to retrieve and bring my magnifying glass here and there, and to hold it as I read.... Sign in to see full entry.

A New Way To Gauge Book Success

I have come upon a new way to gauge the progress of my book sales for The Red Meadows (or, more accurately, my struggles thereof). Online I noticed that Amazon listed book sale rankings. Mine was in the millions. To compare my book sales with others, I entered quite a number of books I have on hand... Sign in to see full entry.

A Compost Solution

My pot of coffee grinds filled up completely,, so I had to make a decision where to take it. Until my friend moved away nearly a year ago, I always took my compost to his garden. Since then, I have been unsure where to take it. Then it occurred to me of the organic, sustainable status of the company... Sign in to see full entry.

Don't Be Surprised. People May Come From Anywhere.

A black temporary employee at work surprised me with his heavy accent, use of French, and his personal origins. He told me he came from the tundra of the Northwest Territories. It is not only the eskimos and other aboriginal people who live there. Sign in to see full entry.
