It is almost impossible I find to make money from publishing a book. My manuscrips are gathering dust because anything published has cost me money..

I know of which you speak. When my first book, "The Hindering," was published, I did the same thing, tracking its "popularity" on the Amazon website. And it too bounced around all over the place. Fortunately, it started out, and remained, under a million! I haven't checked it in a long time, so I have no idea where it may lie now . . .
