A $16 Pizza???

After my experience with the taboo foods last night I decided that I would splurge and have a pizza delivered. When they told me a one topping medium pizza would cost me $16 I decided to pass. Sixteen dollars??? Pizza is an easy proposition. The earliest pizzas were nothing more than baked dough... Sign in to see full entry.

My Taste Buds Are Bored

Since my marathon cooking session yesterday I really don't have to cook tonight. There is plenty I can nuke and eat. But after cooking all of that yesterday I don't have an appetite for any of it. I was thinking about ordering a pizza (a luxury I rarely indulge in now that I have my own kitchen... Sign in to see full entry.

Five Pounds of Frozen Hamburger

Holly Home Maker goofed. I told Tom to put the five pound log of burger in the fridge so I could put it into packets in the morning. Grocery shopping at 2 am tends to make my communication skills dull and his hearing duller. So you can imagine how happy I was to find five pounds of burger frozen... Sign in to see full entry.

Cooking With Your Nose

We all know that our sense of smell is tied to our sense of taste. All you have to do is to try to eat something when you have a cold to have this proven to you. Everything but the strongest flavors taste bland or dulled. But I recently had a cooking lesson that began and ended with my nose. I have... Sign in to see full entry.

Goodbye Again?

There are 24 hours in a day... that's it. And as much as I love sharing with you all, I do not have time to breathe most days, let alone blog. So at the end of the month I will again say goodbye for awhile. My business is finally getting back on its feet. My personal life is once again rich and full... Sign in to see full entry.

Dinner Cake

I know... it sounds pretty weird but this is a recipe that my mom used to make. She says that her mom made it and my grandma says her mom did as well so this is one of those passed along recipes that everyone has tinkered and played with, making it their own. My sister dubbed it "Dinner Cake"... Sign in to see full entry.

Cooking With Allergies

Our room mate Jackie has numerous food allergies but the one that just dumbfounds me in the kitchen is her allergy to eggs. Eggs are in practically everything. Even if you don't actually taste them, eggs are called for in many recipes as a binder. Last night I decided to make meatloaf for... Sign in to see full entry.

Everything But The Kitchen Sink Pizza

Ok... tonight we will not be having the Friday frozen pizza... oh no. I had to get rid of some stuff in the freezer so... well, we'll just call the everything but the kitchen sink pizza. Everything But The Kitchen Sink Pizza 1/2 cup (maybe a little more) flour 1/4 cup water (more or less) Mix these... Sign in to see full entry.

The Quickest Meal You Will Ever Make....Almost

I figure I have at least two more weeks of cleaning and putting my stuff away before I can say that my time is really mine and I don't have to rush to make meals. I am so looking forward to that. Despite the fact that I hated to wait so long for Tom to get home, I miss all the "free time" I had when... Sign in to see full entry.

Of Chicken Thighs and Bedroom Eyes

Have you ever been so tired that food was the last thing on your mind? God I have been... and lately. Yesterday I continued to unpack my things. I did not realize I had that much clothing. By the time that I realized it had gotten well past late I had fallen asleep in the middle of our bed piled... Sign in to see full entry.
