Remembering majroj's post on a chilly morning...
There is a chill that has crawled into my sweater through my freezing fingers and up my arms, a chill that has me shivering. The city got cloudy yesterday and then they went away. But, the chill that came on the accompanying winds has decided to stay. The house is closed up tight and the sun is setting, I have on a half inch thick sweater, but it is no help, no barrier to this cold. Today I taxied and was a personal shopper, sure, that's it.
I drove my next door neighbors to pick up the car that they put a down payment upon yesterday, when we drove to Oro Valley. They bought it, then drove to insure it and then disappeared for the rest of the day. I thought I'd see that new car parked, but no, ROAD TRIP!!!! I'm sure that they had a blast. Got home at about 8 p.m. Then, I visited my mom and hung curtains, downloaded photos from her camera for her and looked at her new bathroom floors all tiled and pretty. I left with a package to... I bought three yards of orange cloth with BOO written on it.
Then, I bought two yards of orange and silver reflective cloth tape and cut eye patches out of it, put elastic strings on them to tie around heads swathed in Boo bandanas and then scotch taped gold and silver earrings to the ears of my Somali pirate crew. We were Turkish and Iraqi pirates, too. I took twelve children and two adults with me. One mother wanted to come along and so did her teenaged daughter. She loved telling everyone that she was Iraqi. Bush wants Mukasey to suppress votes in Ohio. Fight back to protect every voter. Tell Attorney General Mukasey not to use the Department of Justice to quash the rights of Ohioans. Two favorite actors died in July and Aug. this year, not counting my
good man, Paul Neuman, may he rest in peace and a thousand blessings be upon him for his good works here on Earth. Breno Mello and Marpessa Dawn worked together in one of my favorite films, Orfeu Negro or Preto, if you like.... He died first and she died about a month later. He was Orfeu, the star of the Brasilian film and she was his love, Eurydice.
