MIA for two days...kidnapped by Somalis and then babysitting Royal.

I was invited, very forcefully, to hit the Goodwill store and put some furniture inside my van for delivery to a Somali apartment. As I go about loading, etc. I hear gossip of a wedding and the decorating of the bride's new apartment. I am told to stop at another used furniture store and glass tables are purchased, huge fake rose arrangements, etched glasses and bedding for a princess. Rugs for covering carpeting, sofas and who knows what else. Grocery stops were added on the way to the... Sign in to see full entry.

We were 34 at my sister's Christmas feast, because not everyone could come.

Manish from Mumbai was flying off to New Jersey to find work after just getting his MIS master's degree. Piya was off in Boise with her two sisters from Zambia and I couldn't find Quizi Pu and Yen. Hiba was visiting from Madison, WI. and Jeoung Do said that his parents were visiting from Pusan, South Korea, so I invited them along. I worried about how they would handle our large and noisy crowd, but they claimed to have had a very enjoyable time. Even the talent show didn't make them toss up... Sign in to see full entry.

Grandma is confused by life choices and none look too great.

I am going to ignore reality and just visit with relatives for the next few days. I have too many really serious things to think about and don't want to right now. Avoidance works for awhile. This is my awhile. May all of your sweets be just sweet enough, your salties be just right and your chewies not separate your dentures from the roof of your mouth. I gave everyone discarded library books for Christmas. Each one the perfect book for the recipient. I have not wrapped the last one, the... Sign in to see full entry.

Grandma wants to blog, but is too wiped out to do much more than

crawl towards the bedroom at the end of each day. Whoever invented today's style of bed is to be worshipped as a saviour of human beings from all previous suffering while sleeping on earth, branches, netting, webbing, blankets, piles of hay or whatever. I love my bed more than ever this month. I really do. Sign in to see full entry.

What this video says is all that we must remember each day...

We must stand by each other, help each other, love each other, DO for each other at every opportunity. Did my Pets blog entry make you cry over one animal helping another at the risk of his own life?? He stood by his friend, you stand by yours, okay? And stand by a stranger or two when you can, whenever you possibly can. HERE is the video or just click on the play button here below. Sign in to see full entry.

Drove to Phoenix and back today. It should be 90 minutes, but took 3 hrs.

Things accidentally messed up the traffic flow around Ray Rd. all the way to the airport exit. I drove up smoothly, but slowed to 5 mph from Chandler to the end of Tempe. The same, but different thing happened on the way back and that trip took 3 hours, too. I had planned a four hour round trip. HAH. The radio said that our highway patrol cameras and speed readers had registered 166,000 or so speeders in the recent surveys from Tucson to Phoenix. Maybe a one month period. They had decided to... Reposting a poem from 1984 about a boyfriend, Dionisio.

Sign in to see full entry.

So many wonderful times in these winter months. Family and family and

friends. And I am beginning to feel really yucky again and don't want any family or friends to know it....I only tell my secrets to Blogit friends. Why is that? So many of us do that. We want anonymous sympathy without having to suffer through real and personal and in your face sympathy which can become totally unbearable. And, I don't want them, close family, to worry. I know that you guys will worry but in an internet kinda way, you know? Bearable and escapable. I can just hide from Blogit... Sign in to see full entry.

Thanksgiving Day...at Ba's house.

The family is gathering from around Arizona and I have invited my six or so foreign students to come and hang out and eat with us. My young Somali friend called to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving and said that his mother bought a turkey this year, their second in America. Good. I bought a beautiful hand built clay container from him and still owe him $10 for it, gave him ten already. He made it in his art class. It is beautiful and has his name in clay letters upon it. It is red and white and... Sign in to see full entry.

I am off to visit that foreign nation, Florida and can't wait to meet the

natives. That would be the Seminoles, who were chased down into there at some point, I think. Everyone else showed up soon after Ponce de Leon, if I remember my Spanish history. I sure do hope to find the Fountain of Youth while there and I think that it is hidden inside my daughter's garden hose which I shall spray at her youth, my grandchildren. Can't wait to hold her teeny tiny new puppy, Tommy and hope not to step on him and squash him while there. Vewy scawy. Wish me a safe flight and a... Sign in to see full entry.
