Sounds encouraging but the toll is rough
on both patient and care giver. Yes, much needs to be improved in health care systems just about everywhere, I think. Continuing prayers for WileyFriend and for you, Dear Kabu...

Keep going, Kabu. He'll soon be home. Trust me, I'm a vicar!

I'm wondering when will you get home (both of you together).  I guess you are longing for that also.  Holding you up in prayer.

I can understand what you're going through, after Ashish being in hospital for 2 years...one does get fed up, and sometimes the old ways of doing things were the best. Hope you'll are back home soon. Take care, and get well wishes for Wiley.

I know first hand how hard it is with a loved one in the hospital, I believe it to be one of the hardest thing a person will ever do.  I am glad Wiley has you to watch over him, God will surely bless you for your kindness and love.  I pray you will both be home soon, no place like home, may God bless.

I am sorry you guys have had to go through all of that but glad that its come out so well I even like the fact that he is staying an extra night. Its not so bad if  he is feeling so tired and un-well Kabu ... is less work for you and I know you must be exausted as well darling.  Nothing taxes our strength more than being with a loved one during a hospital stay.  Here is hoping tomorrow will be a new day and Wiley will wake up fresh and restored enough to go home.  All my love.  xoxoxo

Hoping you'll be ble to get out of there soon
I know exactly what you mean about standard of and time for care; it often seems to me that a reliance on technology lets nurses off the hook in terms of their willingness to act as human beings

Hang in there Kabu, he will be alright, be careful when, if you drive him home, make sure you eat properly yourself, you cannot do any more.

OOOOOOh I know how you feel
Blood is supposed to be checked by 2 nurses or a nurse and Dr. before being hung.  Here it is usually checked and signed outside the room and then the empty bag is checked and signed when returned to the lab.  The patient always has to be identified before anything is given by ID bracelet name, birthdate and admission number.  Nowadays they have a scanner to scan bracelet and medication at beside.   But you are so right to be his Case Manager and double check everything. You have a legal right to be his case manager and you have the qualifications if anyone should question you. You can know their assessment, plan of care and interventions, who is coordinating care, and their evaluation and the measurements used to evaluate care.  Wiley probably signed papers giving you the right to know on admission. Otherwise you may have to show other situations where you are assisting in assessment, corrdination, intervention and evaluation of care on a regular basis to establish that you are his case manager.  Richard and I had some nightmare visits in the hospital.

What an ordeal the two of you have been through. I am so glad that you have each other, and that Wiley has you as his head nurse. Did you ever come into his life at the right time, my dear! Hold tough until it's time to go home to your lovely place together. Love and Hugs to both of you.

You have every reason to be tired and grumpy, Kabu. I totally agree with you on the patient care...most of it doesn't exist anymore - it's a 'lick & a promise' thing out there in the wards. I am happy to hear the flush is clear, and sincerely hope that Wiley will be ready to come out of there tomorrow!! Stay strong, and don't forget to take care of you too.

Dear One I wish I could give you real hugs in real time. I know both of you are weary. When you get home call in some help so you will have an opportunity to rest too. Dear Wiley will be fine with you watching over him. We love you both and have you in our prayer circle.

You are doing so well
You are helping Wiley and seeing to his comfort so much.  You two are truly blessed.  Just hang in there, I'm sure that better days are ahead.

Do your best to keep your strength and stay calm.  Just do what you feel you have to do, and don't worry so much about what others should be but aren't doing... it will just stress you out.  Just focus on Wiley and stay as positive as possible.  My Love and warm thoughts are with you both.

It appears the worst is in the aft and so now my prayer for you and Wiley makes more sense! What has happened is unfortunate but I did see a great deal of determination and accomplishment by your actions. I had a very nice chat with the Lord yesterday. I have some hang ups with the Holy Bible since I have studied it for these many years! I did learn that one must go to the Lord in truth, and with a truthful heart! So in my grappling and coming to my truth with the Lord I was able to take on your burden when I prayed as I said I would. Galatians 6:2 is the verse for "Bear on another's burdens... and so I prayed earnestly and ask that it all be according to His will! When I awoke this morning I was calm, so I believe that the message for you is to persevere for it looks like nothing is going to change. An all calm should prevail and when it gets tense call upon the Lord and the tasks that you must do to ensure Wiley's care will be done in tandem with the Lord and then ya can bust out of there and get on with the business of getting Wiley well and you rested and looking forward to a glorious summer. Let His peace carry you Kabu! sam

I will pray for you and for Poppy that God will allow him to come home tomorrow and I will pray that you will finally be able to rest peacefully.  I wish I could come and look after the pair of you for a few days.  Will this do?...

And with you I pray for the people of Joplin...Please dear God, let this nightmare come to an end....

I don't think I would discount your sh*tstorm in the face of
the one in Joplin, Mo. Life and death and drama, fear and loss -- equal opportunity offenders as far as I'm concerned. You and Wiley have what it takes to triumph over adversity together. And you know I love you guys, too.  :)pat

I have always wondered
about those two words, so close together yet not even related at all. Patients,,,, patience,,,,  like you and Wiley,,,, he is the patient,,,, and you have the patience,,,, and you both share that word,,,, your patience maybe wearing thin with the newly trained nurses,,,, that is so understandable,,,, and he is so lucky as the patient to have you,,,, a trained nurse,,, who has so much patience,,,,,, the love the two of you share shows,,,, even in your writing,,,, we all love and are keeping you in our prayers,,,,

Sorry you have both been through something of an ordeal, but I am glad to read it appears to be almost over.  At least there were funny moments.  Prayers continue that all will resolve and he will get well soon.

Kabu
It's a darn good thing you're there to be so hands on - so many others (perhaps even enduring long illnesses) have no one stop in and brighten their day much less bring them a blanket when they're chilly or double check their meds.  In all fairness to the nurses I think they're over-worked so they probably appreciate it when a loved one is so hands on.  That being said, I can well imagine you're both so done with this and want to be home watching those flowers grow.  Let's hope tomorrow brings good news.....
